little shallow rocky streams

Featured Replies

well, there is a creek that is about 4 feet wide, 6 feet at the widest, and its really shallow... with some deep pools.. it would be very hard to fish panther martins and those for trout. what other baits will work? i searched for this and i read something about powerbait? does that work pretty well? any help would be appreciated. thanks

Man I miss trout fishing. In a stream like that I would probably throw  a small floating jighead with a nightcrawler and a small split shot weight so it sinks just below the surface. Or you can use a regular hook and fill the worm with air so it floats. Cast it a bit upstream of the pool you think holds fish and something should smash it. I always like to add a little bright colored power bait egg to this rig as well. Other than that your best bet is probably fly fishing, which is extremely fun and challenging if you're up for it!

Yeah definitely what he said. Also you might wanna try some 3inch berkley trout worms in pink. Also put these under a float. Other than that try fly fishing with some nymphs or some dry flies. It might be a little hard to get a good cast if its surrounded by a lot of trees and brush like the creeks in my area.
