Featured Replies

THEY BOTH WIN.....BUT YOU NEED TO FIND THEM....POWER FISHING

I would think finesse would be the key to catching little bitty 3/4 lb 12" bass, but I could be wrong.  ::)

Aaaaaaaaaaa...Yes! 8-)

I guess that's getting old. I will not bring it up again and although I can't change my vote, I'll change my response: "Mixture of both"

To be consistant in tournament competition, a fisherman must be versatile.

Many are won with powerfishing techniques, and a lot are won using finese fishing. So I'll go with a mixture(although probably more are won with powerfishing).

It's those dog days of summer when I have to go with the finess on lakes.

On the rivers were there is less boat traffic I still power fish. 8-)

I find myself using the "tip-toe" method when the water gets hot or the fish are getting pounded! :)

VERSATILITY!

Take any Elite pro that truly puts themselves into a specific category he doesnt win tournaments. KVD has been deemed a power fisherman...he will tell you thats not true since at anytime hes going to switch up to what is working.

It seems that power fishing outfishes finesse on the trail but finesse seems to work better for me. Maybe I need power fishing lessons? How about lessons on Lake Baccarac, any teachers available? 8-)

Play nice...

Hale's post was edited and three others were deleted because Hale's post was referenced, not necessarily because of content, so NO ONE is getting picked on.

As everyone seems to know, THE POLICY of the Forum is NOT to allow pro bashing. Everytime we have allowed it to run, it has ALWAYS run downhill. (Anyone know a plumber? He can explain what else runs downhill).

So, I'm not closing the thread, but we are enforcing this policy here and on all future topics.

I guess I worded what I meant wrong. I really wasnt bashing who I mentioned and truly like his fishing style, I just wanted to point out the bottom line stat. My apologies. (wins or no wins I would trade places with him)

LOL....YEAH YEAH...LOL    ALWAYS PICKING ON THE LITTLE GUYS..LMAO.  I WAS WONDERING WHERE MY POST WENT.  OH WELL...NOW I KNOW NOT TO QUOTE HALE ANYMORE....LOL

HEY...ANY TOPWATER HITS ON THOSE POPMAX'S I SOLD YA?

I caught exactly one bass on each lure and then put then back in their boxes "for display."  Around Christmas  my dad gave me an old tackle box that my grandad (mother's side) had given him twenty years ago or so. In that box is a VERY used Lucky 13, original Bomber and some Mann's Jelly Worms among other things. Now I've changed my mind and plan to fish PopMax. "Experienced lures" are MUCH cooler than new, in-the-box!

If finnese includes a weightless senko, a jig and trailer, or t-rigging a worm/lizard etc., then I would say finnese.

WELL...NOW I KNOW NOT TO QUOTE HALE ANYMORE....LOL

Those are true words of wisdom there! ;D ;D ;D

I would say Power fishing.. I use finesse tactics to get 5 in the boat then switch to power tactics and usually cull all of them out.
