okay, found out that flippers sunday morn. tourn. has been cancelled for 2011. so now i am looking for a boater that needs a non boater to fish riverside marine's old hickory tourn. trail, or something similar, old hickory/ percy preist.

There's also the Mike's Sat. morning tx at Fate Sanders on Priest.  $25 a person 8a.m. - 2p.m. right now probably will change as the weather warms.

Kevo, did you see this past weekends results?  Mickey Beck had roughly sixteen pounds with four fish.  Hes on some fish right now for sure haha.

Yeah my buddy finished 4th this past weekend with 1 fish 3.5#.  He said Mickey was fishing way up in the river.  Not sure whats he's been using but my guess would be he's got a shad rap on at least one rod. Haha

Those shad raps are goood lures for sure.  Im planning on fishing it this weekend.  Hopefully the water has warmed a little bit.  Mainly going to "attempt" to get some of the itch off lol.  Now that duck seasons over, im ready for bass fishing.

I fished mike's 3 weeks ago when the first warm weekend of the yr came along.  We caught about 15 fish all shorts it only took 2 fish 4# to win.  Mickey had 1 for like 3.5.  My buddy said he caught all his fish on a jerkbait in the creeks last weekend.  The water was 51* 3 weeks ago in spring creek.  IDK what it was last weekend but im sure its somewhere close to that.  It was 47-49* at fate sanders that weekend.

I was on the lake sunday afternoon and it was 41.5 at long hunter.  I think the highest I saw was 43 at hong kong.  I was going to put in last friday at fate sanders but it was frozen so I couldn't put in.  I would think spring creek might be 53-55 with this warm weather, who knows.

Good luck I wish I could fish this weekend too.

Thanks!  I bet its gonna be super crowded this weekend with this warm weather.  Every one is gonna be itching to go.

how'd you do? My buddy told me there were like 30 boats in spring creek this morning... LOL.  Wish i was there though!  I was taking a boat for a test drive at Old Hick though, maybe by next weekend I can be one of the many in Spring creek.

Ended up not fishing.  The cold front coming through last night turned me off since I didn't have any good stuff to fish.  Went scouting around while the lakes low instead.  There was a boat on every point and bank and everything in between from long hunter to fate sanders.  Once you got past the hobson pike bridge there wasnt that many people.  We fished for about fourty five minutes and caught seven.  They were killing the number five and seven shad rap.  I think they were chasing blue gill on the bank.    For fourty three degree water, they were pretty active.   I had one on a red eye shad and if it was a bass, it was a keepr for sure.  It got off and I never saw it.  Water was fourty eight around fate sanders and then fourty three about a mile past the hobson pike bridge towards the dam.

Yeah the closer you get to the dam, the colder the water gets and the less boats you see.  I've caught some big fish around 7 points in the winter.  Me and a buddy doubled up 5# smallies off the rock pile 2 yrs ago Jan. on a red eye.
