How young?

There are alot of companys that are willing to give a young, upcoming angler a shot by supporting him but that guy must have an exceptional and well rounded resume.

Not off the top of my head but you could always start off in the "Field-Staff" and work your way up.

yeah well I am twelve yes i know really young but if i do well in the state i am going to the jwc

Not trying to be hard on ya dude but it has gotten a whole lot tougher for you really young guys. There is a ton of compitition and other great kids looking for sponsers. The big thing is to have communication skills, a well-rounded person, and a great fisherman. So you have to make it to the JWC first, second it took me 2 JWC's and a bunch of wins before I got my first sponsers. Last but not least, you have to keep doing well in tourney's, just one big tourney won't do it, unless you win a Classic. ::)

well ya you have a point it is just i want a sponsor so bad i dont care if i have to go to a seminar every weekend if it helps out with the financial help in lures line i dont care i have to pay for all of my lures line rods reels and everything inbetween and 48 dollars a month doesnt pay for that

First off try to do your best in school. There are many companies that have Jr Pro Staffers. Many of the companies require Jr Pro Staffers to do well in school and must maintain a certain GPA like a 3.5 or B+ average.

Next find something else in the fishing industry that you can do to set yourself apart from the rest of the  Jr Anglers, volunteer at adult tournaments, organize a fishing derby or just something special for others. This will get you exposer.

Just by posting on a great site like this and earning the repect of other anglers and maybe a company may go a longway.

Have your parents approve of all your activities.  Also have them checkin on what other people are telling you or offering you. Yes they should even read this since you dont know me.

After checking with parent !!!

As a start if you can make a pledge to try all this for the upcoming season if you let me know your favorite color Stick Bait (Senko) or some jig trailers the next time we do some of our hand pours I'll send you a bag to test. Write and honest report on them and maybe pass a few along to friends.

Good luck and keep pursuing your goal.

Yeah sorry I never use good grammer on the internet. I spell very well I was just in  hurry. And thanks on the birthday wish got some fishing stuff for the B-Day ;D ;D ;D

You have to be have great communicational skills to considered by Companies for a ProStaff or Jr. ProStaff position. You have to have the original personality that most Companies are looking for in their ProStaff members. It just helps to be really good at fishing. I have a lot of wins and many top finishes that have helped me back up. You need to be very presentable and polite.

60% percent salesman, 40% fisherman in my opinion.

trust me if selling myself and talking can get me a sponsor. I have that covered. LOL

Your internet usage WILL be examined if they are considering you.  Most sponsors would click on this thread and dismiss you.  If you are applying to be a public representative,...EVERYTHING you do in public, ....needs to reflect that.

There is ALWAYS someone watching.

Even after over 2 decades of full ride sponsorship, I almost lost The North Face over something I wrote on this site.

Luckily, the infraction was not deemed as "fire-able" and the relationship is steady, but NEVER FORGET that people are watching,....people that matter.
