Starting a club

Featured Replies

So, my school doesnt have a fishing club, and i thought i should try to make one. If it works out, what exactly are some things you could do with it. I was thinking we could plan outings and whatnot and like, enter tournaments and whatnot. But when we dont do that, what should we do. Just wondering, because i would like to find something that would be productive. Any suggestions would be much appreciated ;D

Last I look there are 622 fishing clubs posted on this site.

Try your luck in finding the listing under Fishing Clubs in the pull down lists and then contact some of them to find out how they got started.

Or you can Google Orange County Fishing Club and then scroll down to the fishing clubs listed for bassresource.com.

The fishing club at Orange County High School in Orange County, Virginia, is very successful and I am sure they can give you some tips.

I think you would need a parent, guardian or teacher to be involved.

Good luck.

Thanks for replying, i was thinking noone ever would. I guess i should have thought more about looking at other clubs. But i guess i just wasn't thinking clearly. Been a bit stressful with all teh schoolwork lately. Oh well. Thanks for the advice.

I myself tried to start a club at my school.  I got everything together (approval etc.) but it never came due to class load, work, life etc.  One of the ideas that I got from some of the other school clubs that I talked with was a "paper tournament".  Basically everyone has a date, start time, and a partner that is close in local.  You fish with a partner to keep you honest.  You all fish different bodies of water that you know and log your success.  Results are accepted until a certain time the day of the tourny and are submitted to the tournament director by the predetermined time.  It is a way for people to get out on the water, meet their club members and still fish no matter where they are.  I thought it was a good idea.  Hope this helps.
