Potomac River Benefit Tournament

I am here looking for fishing teams who would like to help out the Stafford County Crime Solvers.

Hook'em and Book'em Bass Club which is located in Stafford County, Virginia is primarily a Law Enforcement based fishing club. We are hosting this tournament with a 60% payout on entry fee and 70% payout on big fish.

If you are interested in helping this cause please feel free to sign up and mail in your applications. If you would like to donate money to this cause you may do so, send money to the address on the application and ALL donations are tax deductible. All proceeds will benefit Stafford County Crime Solvers and nothing will be going to our club, we are only hosting this tournament. If you have any questions please either post here or PM me and I will get back to you ASAP. If you are a bait company and are willing to assist us, we are trying to make "grab bags" to hand out to everyone who participants in this event. I would like to have baits, clothing, anything to give away to those who do not win the tournament. I would like to be able to have a "door prize" drawing as well pending we can find enough supporters to assist us with donations of fishing items. Thank you for your time in advance.

Entry Fee in $50.00 per person. Big fish pot is $10.00 (Big Fish Entry is completely optional)

Below is a list of the rules:



RULE INTERPRETATION: Interpretation of these rules is left exclusively to the Tournament Director. The decisions of the Tournament Director are final in all matters and are not subject to appeal.

ELIGIBILITY: Participation is open to anyone. Persons under 18 must have the signature of his/her parent or legal guardian and be with an adult during the Tournament. This Tournament is open to all people regardless of race, sex, religion or national origin. The Tournament Director reserves the right to refuse any application for this Tournament and tournament entry fees.

ENTRY FEES: Entry fee is $50 per person. Big Fish pot of $10 is optional. Total per team for entry fee and Big Fish pot is $120.00

TOURNAMENT HOURS: Tournament hours will be from 7:00 a.m. (safe light permitting) until 3:00 p.m. for the first flight. There will be a short delay for each flight leaving the Tournament site.

REFUNDS: There will be no refunds of Tournament or Big Fish fees

SPORTSMANSHIP: All teams are expected to follow high standards of sportsmanship, safety, courtesy, and conservation. Any team who violates these rules or any federal, state or local laws will be disqualified. No drugs or alcohol are permitted in the boat at any time. The winners of the event may not have any alcohol until after the polygraph.

Use of any 2-way communication devices such as cell phones, pagers, CB's, etc. or any angler or persons intending to aide in locating or catching fish is strictly prohibited. You may be disqualified for violating these rules.

TACKLE & EQUIPMENT: Only artificial lures, with the exception of pork rind, may be used. Only one rod and reel combination may be used at one time per person. Trolling as a method of fishing is prohibited. All bass must be caught alive in a conventional manner during tournament hours by either team member.

BOAT SAFETY OPERATION & MOTOR: All fishing must be done from a boat inspected during official boat check-out. The Tournament Staff reserves the right to check any and all boats before, during or after tournaments, including any and all compartments, for any rule infraction. All boats must meet U.S. Coast Guard and state regulations. All boats must have a functional emergency kill switch and an aerated live well. A U.S. CG approved chest type life preserver, SUSPENDER-TYPE PRESERVERS are discouraged, must be on and fastened any time the boat is under power of the outboard motor and the kill switch attached to the driver. Lights must be up and on until the first stop. All boats entered in the tournament must carry liability insurance.

PERMITTED FISHING LOCATIONS: Fishing anywhere on tournament waters that is accessible by boat is permitted except in areas designated as "off limits" or "no fishing," etc. by local, state or federal officials. When fishing a commercial boat dock, all patrons of that facility have the right-of-way. You may not leave your boat except in a dire emergency.

CHECK POINT: There will be one official check point for check-out in the morning and check-in that afternoon. At check-out boats shall be released in the order of registration. Failure to go through check-out in the morning or failure to check-in at check-in point will result in disqualification. All fishing must cease upon check-in. If any angler elects to check-in early, it shall be his responsibility to notify Tournament Officials. All Fish must be left in the Boats Live well until the team is ready to weigh their fish.

SCORING: All places will be determined by pounds and ounces. Each boat may weigh in a limit of five bass at least 15" long. No more than six fish at anytime may be in the live wells. You must cull as you catch. No culling at the ramp. Fish will be measured on a Golden Rule with mouth closed and tail compressed or fanned. Fish brought to the scales become the property of tournament organizers. A dead fish penalty of 4 ounces per fish will be deducted from the total weight. No dead fish will be weighed for Big Fish. Any team bringing a fish to the scales shorter than the tournament length will have the short fish and biggest fish from their catch culled. Any team late to the scales will be penalized 1/2 pound per minute and disqualified after 15 minutes. Any team returning late will not have their fish weighed for Big Fish. Any fish appearing to be mangled, mauled, or otherwise altered, may be weighed at the discretion of the Tournament Director. Only Largemouth, Spotted or Smallmouth bass will be scored. Failure to sign weigh-in form may result in zero weight for that day.

PAYOUT: In the case of a tie, the prize money will be combined and divided equally. Each member is responsible for reporting all winnings. Any team qualifying for two awards will receive the award of the greatest value.

PROTESTS: Protests must be made in writing within 30 minutes of the official check-in time of the final flight in each tournament.
