1st Bass on Chatterbait

I've been seeing all the talk about chatterbaits lately and had to see what the hype was about.  I went to BPS and picked up some necessities and a 1/2oz Gambler Swim Blade in the Bluegill color.  I went to my favorite local spot after class and hooked up with a 2lb bass on my third cast with the chatterbait.  A few more cast past a sunken tree and i was rewarded with one weighing 2lb 6 oz. (I finnaly got myself a digital scale so no more guessing) After throwing the chatterbait for another 30 mins I get hung up on something and i was rewarded with the return of just the blade on the bait. I was also wondering if i was tying my leader to the correct part of the bait. Do you tie it to the split ring or part of the blade? Can someone post a picture o how it is supposed to be tied on?

I tie it to part of the blade you will now when you get that vibration that makes you say, Man I love the motion of this bait. Stuck myself on this bait when i first got it cast out three times, three different fish, holy moly, 4th cast well I guess it catches rocks too, because that rock hit so hard I pulled in a frayed line and left about 6 bucks in the bottom of that lake. Man, fishing is awesome.

Good luck to you Peterson I wish you the best.  These are the two spots I tryed.  #2 is what I used to catch the 2 bass but it doesn't seem to swim erratic rigged either way, just gives off good vibrations.  The one I have/had today didn't have the brushguard,  but this is the only pic of the blade i could find.

Man, am I glad to read that someone has had some good results with the Chatterbait.

I have done well with the bait and it is refreshing to read something positive about the presentation.

Line tie #1 is correct, as per the manufacturer.

Keep up the good work and remember to bump the Chatterbait on various structure to entice bites.

Or just throw it out and reel it in. It works both ways but don't tell anyone or everyone will be using them and having some good success!

When tied on properly, your CB will make your rod throb on its retrieve.

BTW,  I bought a couple more CBs from our local BPS and threw one today.  Something was definitely wrong....no throb and the CB was just rolling over :-/  Turns out this batch had paint sprayed on everything, the clip, blade, jig eye, and hook instead of just the jig head.  I 'worked' the blade, clip and eye until the paint was rubbed off.  Then it worked right.
