No, I will not send you my stuff!

Featured Replies

After my column this week (which must have been misunderstood by many readers), I have been bombarded by emails asking for free tackle.

To help reduce the number of emails that I am getting asking for my fishing tackle, I am making a blanket statement.

NO, I will not send you my fishing tackle.

Please do not send me emails with hard luck stories, guilt trips or anything like that because it is not going to help. My tackle is going to stay with me, period.

In my column I did not say that I had to much tackle. What I said was having it all in the boat at the same time can lead to organization and selection problems.

Here is my column from this week.

I didn't count the emails, but it was a lot.

I'm glad I didn't send you no email! I thought about it after reading the article just to rib you a little bit but nothing serious! LOL!

It has just annoyed me with all of the...

"help the kids, send me your stuff"

"if you have a heart, you will send me free stuff"

"I am poor, send me free stuff"

It's pretty crazy.

I don't want any short sticks. GLX new in the tube or slightly used, 7 ft only. Stella FA if they're '04s, otherwise FBs only, make sure they have new line spooled up to about 1/16th inch from the rim. Diiachi ITT X-Points or Gammies but #3, #4 or #5 EWG only (make sure the packs are full, I don't want partials).

Send it Fed-X, early delivery so it gets here fresh.

Thanks, RW

Hey roadwarrior, You had better spool the reels after you get them. I dont think JT uses yo-zuri line. Or be sure to tell JT that you only use yo-zuri hybird and you will be needing it in 8lb test.....LOL

4 lb Hybrid on the Stella and it holds about 240 yds!

Put a layer of 20 pound underneath and save yourslef some money.  Then again, if its free......

Always somebody, huh JT? Did you say you need help lightening the load in your boat? Let us know..lol. The dog and wife thing is funny. "My mom is sick"?....Not so sure about that one! ::)..Maybe we'll leave that one out of the song!?  Overall though I like Ceph's version the best. Squid, you must have some built up anger....dad died....killed the dog....Can you say "issues"!  ;D

Getting back to the topic at hand...

Alright JT, I seem to have the same problem with sacks of soft plasticbaits. I think you have a good point about selecting certain baits and leaving the ones that you probably won't use back at HQ. My question for you is how do you store/organize so many bags of plastic? It seems that no matter how big of a tackle box I have, I quickly stuff all of the droors to point that they barely shut. I've seen the zip-up binder style "booklets" for storing plastics, but I think I would need at least twenty of them. Any tips for keeping bags 'o' plastic in order?

Danarchy, HHWP here. I use the clear  plastic "shoe boxes" I found at W-Mart. They're in the section where they have alot of plastic containers with lids. I put my plastics in size and color order and label the "box" accordingly. When I go, I take only the ones I will probably use. Works great for me. I have too many to take every outing and it limits my time fishing  with so much to choose from. Like I said, it works for me. Fish-on.
