if you where fishing from the bank for the day what would you bring with you and what would you consider to much or too little?

i wanted to start this because a lot of guys don't have boats and can't bring all there equipment with them and are limited to what they can carry.

so tell everyone what you would bring: how many rods, what kind, tackle box or bag, what baits, and anything else let us know

I fished from the bank for 30 years and still do it ocassionally even though I own a boat:

1.- two rods ( 1 baitcasting, 1 spinning )

2.- a backpack,

3.- a 3700 box with an assortment of lures

4.- a spinnerbait binder ( large ) with an assortment of jigs, spinnerbaits and soft plastics,

5.- two small tackleboxes for sinkers, hooks, jigheads that fit in the pockets of the backpack

6.- a wearable cooler with 3 drink cans, a couple of sandwiches and other nutritious stuff.

I'd bring one baitcasting R&R with 10 lb test.Also,bring worm hooks,weights,5 bags of the most popular colored worms( or Senkos,if you prefer), a minnow floater diver,a prop bait,a pop-R type lure,a shad colored medium c-bait,a white spinnerbait ,a chartruse spinnerbait,and a white or chartruse buzzbait.This ought to cover you (although,someone will come up with some other things).This basic set of lures should fit in a pretty small tacklebox.

a few crankbaits

some senkos

berkley power worms

zoom finesse worms

hooks and weights for your plastics

and at least 3 spinnerbaits

...if you dont get bit with any of those listed,go home.

- yum dingers, culprit stingers

- spinnerbaits

- buzzbaits

- assorted lures (crank, floater, etc.)

- small box of sinkers, hooks, and swivels

- camera

- lunch box with sandwich, large water and snack

- tackle bag for all lures and plastics above

- pliers

I do a lot of bank fishing at a variety of waters. I always bring just one rod/reel combo and too many lures. I have a couple of shoulder bags. One 3701 box for hard baits, a 3600 for soft jerkbaits, with one compartment for two buzzbaits, another 3600 box with assorted worms like Senkos, Kut Tails and Speed worms and a smaller box for a few tubes and jigs. A small box with four spinnerbaits goes in one of the bag's pockets. This is the same stuff I take with me for boat fishing, plus a couple more rods and reels and another utility box or two depending on where we're going.

I know for any given bank outing I have too much stuff, but I just don't feel right without a good assortment of stuff.

I went bank fishing today I brought two rods and two lures. One crankbait rod and a spinnerbait rod. Usually I just carry with me one rod and a hand full of lures. I generally know what kind of lake I am going to fish so I bring stuff that works for that depth or cover. Sometimes I just bring what I feel like fishing. If I have not rat fishing in awhile then thats what I take for example. If I am fishing a heavy weedy pond then I take a soft jerkbait, buzzbait, spinnerbait 1/4 oz, tube, floating worm, grass rat or a frog. Ponds that are a little more open or have some depth I take a 3/8 oz spinnerbait, jerkbait, crankbaits, rattletraps, spitt'n image shad topwater, and a creature bait. I just bring the right tools for the job.
