how do you use a hula popper and what are some good top water lures and best techniques with them

Hula poper is pretty simple you can fish it fast or slow, my best results came when chugging it and letting it rest for a second or two.  My favorite topwater is a zara spook walking the dog is my favorite way to cover lots of water and draw a big bass up from the dephs!

As mentioned earlier, fast or slow it will get the job done.

What I do is cast it out, to where I want it, along shore lines, laydown, veg etc etc.

Wait for the ripples to dieperese take up the slack an give it a gentle tug towards me. As I complete the tug take up the slack an repeat. I do this 2-3 times, an let it sit till the ripples are disperesed, an repeat all the way back in. The biggest thing with top water is reacting to soon an not letting the fish take it all the way. Feel the weigth an set the hook.

hope this helps

Everyone has their favorites, but the question is very broad. There are poppers, chuggers, prop baits, walkers, wobblers, buzzbaits, hollow-bodied frogs, solid plastic toads/frogs and probably others I forgot to mention. They all work and there are multiple techniques for each one.
