Glad to have you brother. Cant have enough Kentucky boys! Live in Lex myself and Im on cave run every other weekend. The rest of the time I spend in elkhorn creek. Pleasure to meet you!

Hey Earl,

Good to see so many people that's pretty close. Maybe we can all get together and do some fishin' :) I've been wanting to drag my boat to Talorsville or maybe go up to Yatesville(Triton21's old stompin' grounds) to see how it's going there. See you all on the water and thanks again.

If you decide to come up to Yatesville let me know I am only about 30 mins from there so  Ispend alot of time down there.  Don't have much of a boat right now but I would be happy to fish with you.

Welcome from Ashland KY.

Valtec,

Good to meet you. Good to see someone else that's close. Do you ever fish Cave Run?

Hi Surferdave, I'll fish Cave Run a couple times a year, I have a tournament there 9-22-07. So what's the lake like? crystal clear and full of weeds?  I know a lot of good fish come out of Cave run but it's so big and seeing how I'm only there two times a year at most I've had a hard time learning much about it. Last year I did fairly well around the camp ground with a white spinner bait, any edge I could find in the weeds I would throw at it, picked up my limit of small ones in a couple of hours then went looking for something bigger but didn't have much luck. I fish Grayson a few times a year but I'm on Yatesville a couple times a week.

You got it right about the water. Weeds everywhere and the water is very clear. We're headed out this afternoon to the river. Last weekend we caught a few small ones (in the slot) off the main points. If the water temp is down maybe we'll pick a few up on the secondary points in the coves. Caught ours on spinnerbaits and I caught 2 fish on a brushhog around the standing timber. I would like to get up to Yatesville maybe in Sept. I've never been to Grayson to fish but I've driven by several times. Is the bass fishing good up there? Anyway, wish you luck next month in the tourney!

Welcome aboard

Hey mignight_madness! Thanks for the welcome!!

Surferdave, Grayson is one of the prettiest lakes you will find around here and that's about the only good thing I can think of to say about it, This spring I did catch a 3.5 pounder out of it and that was by far the largest bass I ever caught out of there, now Yatesville has been tough for the past couple of months but you can expect to catch a keeper or two when you go. When you decide to fish Yatesville let me know and I'll fill you in on what's working, right now a C-rig on deep points is working well. If you find a spot on cave Run that isn't full of weeds with some fish on it please let me know, if I can catch 1 or 2 over the slot I might win.

Valtec, I've heard that Grayson it very pretty and it looks like it from the roads that I've been on. I'll give you a shout when I come to Yatesville and try to catch a few. We were running late yesterday and didn't make it very far up the river but I did catch one (about 15") off the river point at the main lake. In about 22 feet of water in a blowdown in the channel, just working a brushhog in some really thick stuff. It's been tough lately. We caught 3 more small fish, about 12" in 8 feet of water on spinnerbaits and a c-rig. The local guys have a tourney every Monday evening and I think about 6 lbs is tops here lately, and I haven't heard of anyone catching any good fish. Anyway, hopefully we can get on some decent fish in Sept and I'll give you some info about it.
