panther martin swimbaits...

Featured Replies

so this is the first swimbait i have ever used... its a panther martin vivif hard head swimbait... i bought it a BPS for 7.99!!!

i didnt want to dive right in and spend the big bucks just yet.

but my results on the first day using this bait were AWESOME!!

i highly recomend this to anyone who want an "economy" swimbait.

(if you want to see what i caught with it, check out the "2 BIG fish, one day".... post in the fishing trip section)

it worked wonders, and now im thinking of purchasing some better model swimbaits!!

You may not believe this, but that "vivif" minnow was an original design of the now defunct company, Herters, Inc.. They were making lures very similar to the Storm's Wildeyed Shad, back in the 60's. Panther Martin didn't use the design until well into the 70's. This whole soft plastic swimbait thing is actually a re-hash of some older designed lures which never really took off in past years. Some of the old catalogs are incredible to look at! ;)
