Best Plastics For Smallmouths?

going to visit a friend who lives on the ohio river near Pittsburgh.Will be fishing for smallmouth for the 1st time.what plastics would you recommend to use?can only pack a small amount in my suitcase. so i'll be bringing single tail grubs,senko's(reg. and thin)tubes.will be able to pick up more there at the pitts. bps anything else i should get? thanks

Baby rage craws and ,fat alberts ,fat ikas rigged backwards as well

Keep it simple, get some 3.5" tubes, and some 4" senkos in a greenish color, like green pumpkin or watermelon/red flake etc... Fish the tubes on a 1/4 or 3/8 oz. open hook, insert style tube jig head. And have a few rigging options for the senko. My top choices would be weightless wacky, or on a 1/4 football shaky head, and/or wacky rigged on a drop shot. If you can't catch SM on those, your not around them.

I think most styles of plastics will work, including the ones already mentioned. Also don't forget about the old-fashioned curly-tailed grub on a jighead.

hey just letting you know, pittsburgh has been getting a ton of rain. i live here. Im pretty sure the ohio is flooded. But a good place to fish for them is at the point and under the emsworth dam. good luck

thanks for the head up...i have been keeping a eye out on the weather and looks like more rain possible this week when i'm there.can you recommend any small lakes in the area? and thanks for all the post from everyone.... appreciate it!

my favorites for smallmouth are craws, flukes, grubs, and tubes.

Smoke Pepper GYCB grub. It's accounted for more smallies than any other in my boat.
