How Good Is This Lure?

Recommended Posts

sooooo my spinnerbait's skirt band broke, i dont know how... but anyway, i was inspired by beetle spins and put on a mister twister shad swimbait. Do you think this will haul in fish as good as a regular spinnerbait?

Why not? You'll have some thump from the tail of the swimbait added to the blade. All you have to do now is go fishing.

It does work, sometimes better than a regular spinnerbait. Getting it balanced right so it doesn't roll can be tricky though.

My nephew does this all the time or he puts a tube on them he only buys the cheap 99cent walmart spinners and I hate to say it he's out fished me and my terminators a few times with the throw some plastics on a skirtless spinner routine. Its diffrent the fish probably never seen it befor unlike the everyday run of spinners in the same basic colors and blades thrown every day.

Been using this set up for years, fishing for deep structure smallmouths:

i do that with a mimic minnow i have caught ALOT on it, everything from small rock bass to some decent 2-3lbs large mouths. its actually become a goto lure if nothing else is working

EDIT: i use a clip on spinner thing, but looks like your paddle tail setup

Yup. I've done this a bunch of times, but there's a bit of a balancing act between blade size and retrieve rate. The one the OP is using has a pretty small blade though, so it may not be as big an issue for him.
