Bottom Fishing

Featured Replies

I would like to hear every1s technique or bottom fishing for bass what's more effective at what time of year what colors how fast or slow what movements an in what kind of water an cover your in please! I fish in Sayers d**n in Howard pa if u have ideas for that certain lake also thanks!

Carolina Rig. T-rig can work with enough weight. Jigs too. Read up on some old forum posts and articles.

When I'm fishing the bottom I like to use a carolina rig, with a 1/2 weight. I've caught fishing using 6" lizards, brush hogs, and 10" worms. Use whatever plastics work well in your area, colors too. But those 3 baits I like the most. Keep contact with the bottom and move very slowly.

Wow, where do you start? Almost any bait that sinks or dives can be a bottom fishing bait. This time of year I fish a lot of shakeyheads with a trick worm, 3/8 oz jigs in some kind of dark color, brush hogs, big worms, deep running cranks, yo-yoing traps, slow rolling heavy spinnerbaits, ripping jigging spoons, drop shot rigs, and C-rig if I'm getting desperate. I'd check out some of the articles on here to help you get an idea of where to start and what to try.

Everyone has their own personal repertoire of confusion when it comes to particular brands & colors.

Rate of fall & speed of retrieval changes daily or even hourly ;)
