Abu Garcia Vendetta Casting Rod Need Help ?

Featured Replies

I wondering if any Abu Garcia owner of this rods could help me out I was deciding to get one of these rods and was wondering are they worth the money . I have seen many good and bad review about them so I kind of scared to get one any input from you guys would be great . The good review say that their very durable and sensetive but some bad reviews say that they are stiff and not durable . So that why i so confused on getting one , I am going to use it for flipping , maybe think of getting a 7'3Ft or 7'6ft both MH . I do have some St. Croix mojo bass and truimph and one bps extreme rod but think of getting a abu garcia rod . So please give me some good results or bad results on these thanks ? The reel that going on this might be a lews speed spool or my revo sx .

I own 4 of them never had an issue in 2.5 years with them.

I have the VTC 7'3" 6 power (moderate action) and love it! Primarily throw the scrounger with it with the revo SX. Cast like a dream. probably a good small plastic, small crank/jb/finess jig rod as well. Depends on what you are planning to throw?! Much lighter than the mojo line.

The entire line of abu rods are very good value for the money. If I was looking for a rod in that price range it would be a vendetta. If you have not read the Tackletour review give it a look. I think it will give you all the confidence you need to pull the trigger on one.

Good rods. Yes they are a bit stiffer at the tip but thats why I like them. A stiffer tip in my opinion transfer vibrations better thus being more sensative. Plus it helps drag them out of the nasty stuff easier. The moderate action rods seem to be just like all the other rods out there with a moderate action.

I have a VTC66-5, I got it as an all purpose rod for fishing out of the small boat where I can only have a few rods and the Vendetta being to lowest price rod I own I wasn't worried about breaking it. Well after using it I now take it on all my trips, not just the small boat, it is a versatile rod. I've used it for jerkbaits which it handled pretty well, I've also fished it with square bills and spinnerbaits and topwaters and it did all very well. It is a powerful caster, it really does shine when it comes to casting and the sensitivity isn't bad, if you fish with braid it is a non issue. I got the rod when it first came out and I have to say that it feels good in my hand and fishes well above its price point, so I don't think you can go wrong getting one.

I have the 7.3 h, i use it for frogs. I've never had a problem with it.

Very good rod for the price. They are stiffer than advertised (a medium feels like a MH, MH feels like a heavy), but are pretty light and sensative. Unfortunantly, ive owned 2 or 3 and have broken the tips off, repaired them, and then broken them off again. But they are well priced. Just get a warranty with it!

I have four of them and haven't had an issue. Great value.

I prefer the Veritas but still throw the Vendetta's regularly.

I have one with a Revo SX on it. Love it. Med with 65# Spiderwire, not a problem. Very easy to cast with, and great sensitivity.

The only Vendetta rod I had a problem with was the 7' medium action. If you're going for the flippin' stick, go with the 7'6" MH, not the H unless you plan on punching through major jungle junk.
