I'm checking to see if anyone has fished these lakes lately and what the reports are coming from there if you can help me out.

I was down there 2 weekends ago fishing off the dam trying out new rod/reel and caught couple pike. The small crappie are schooling and occasionally you could see pike or bass busting them. I was throwing small swimbait. The lake was fairly clear for Powhatan. I have yet to put a boat in and do any serious fishing yet!

I would say give it a shot and let us know how you do!

Thanks for the update. I was going to try a dropshot, but will check into what you got. Will do, if you see two guys fishing there Thursday morning, stop and say hey. I will hopefully be the one catching fish.

Was looking at heading out to Powhatan Lakes soon myself. Interested to hear your experience.

Sorry guys, my buddy and I called an audible yesterday and did not make it to Powhatan lakes. We only fished a couple of private lakes, 8 dinks were caught that is it. The warm weather tricked us into bad tactics, hahah!!!
