I was getting rods ready to ship down to South Carolina for a small fishing trip. I came across one of my older AllStar tube spinning rods had one of the ceramic inserts missing out of one of the guides. So my question to the rod builders is this. Is this repairable? What is the general process of getting this fixed? Thanks in advance for any help and insight on this.

I'm not a rod builder but have had similar problems. You will have to have the guide replaced. If you have a fly shop around you they should be able to do it.

The guide and epoxy will have to be removed a new guide wrapped and epoxied. Depending on how busy the builder is can take any where from two days to a couple weeks.

Process doesn't actually take too long. It is the curing of the epoxy that takes the longest.

I've had them done in under an hour at the local fly shop.
