Has anyone tried the new Buckeye Mini Mop jigs? What applications would this lure be used for?

I have not used their brand, however I make my own, and use it for a very slow presentation, with a slow fall in clear water. Very effective if fished correctly.

I've tied a few this winter and they've been working just fine. It's basically the same jig with thinner living rubber used in the skirt. It has less water resistance so it falls a little faster. Also note that it uses a thin wire hook so you don't want to use heavy line or a heavy rod our you'll bend the hook out on the hookset.
