Maybe I'm confused, but doesn't tying a leader onto braided line just reduce the strength of your set up to the strength of the leader? ie 65# braid with 15# monofilament leader is only as strong as the mono?

    Yes it does. I fish jigs ALOT with braid mainline and 20lb fluoro leader and have NEVER had a bass break me off. If I get hung up and cant retrieve my jig then I want my leader to break off. I would think the knot would be a weaker link than the leader and as already said, I have never had a problem.( I use a uni-uni for line to leader).
