Haire Wins Bass Fishing League Tournament on Kerr Lake Danny Haire won the FLW Bass Fishing League (BFL) Shenandoah Division tournament on Kerr Lake.

HENDERSON, N.C. (April 10, 2017) – Boater Danny Haire of Yadkinville, North Carolina, weighed a five-bass limit totaling 18 pounds even Saturday to win the FLW Bass Fishing League (BFL) Shenandoah Division tournament on Kerr Lake. Haire took home $5,590 for his victory.


According to post-tournament reports, Haire caught his fish in the Satterwhite Point area of Kerr Lake, fishing a Carolina-rigged Zoom Lizard. It was Haire’s third career BFL win, all of them coming on Kerr Lake.


The top 10 boaters finished the tournament in:

                1st:           Danny Haire, Yadkinville, N.C., five bass, 18-0, $3,590 + $2,000 Ranger Cup Bonus

                2nd:          Aaron Falwell, Forest, Va., five bass, 15-4, $1,803

                3rd:          Wayne Dorman, Louisa, Va., five bass, 15-1, $1,068

                4th:           Kendall Dail, Chinquapin, N.C., five bass, 14-8, $748

                5th:           Jason Houchins, Clarksville, Va., five bass, 14-5, $714

                5th:           Manley Jones, Raleigh, N.C., five bass, 14-5, $614

                7th:           Curtis Talbott, Forest, Va., five bass, 14-2, $507

                7th:           Josh Milligan, Edenton, N.C., five bass, 14-2, $507

                9th:           James Blankenship, Siler City, N.C., five bass, 14-1, $727

                10th:        Frank Ippoliti, Mercersburg, Pa., five bass, 13-15, $374


Haire also caught a 5-pound, 9-ounce bass, which was the heaviest of the tournament in the Boater Division. The catch earned him the day’s Boater Big Bass award of $385. Craig Wright of Rustburg, Virginia, weighed in five bass totaling 15 pounds, 7 ounces Saturday to win the Co-angler Division and the top prize of $1,803.

                7th:           Jeff Warter, Howardsville, Va., three bass, 8-2, $267

                8th:           Dick Allen, Sumerduck, Va., three bass, 8-1, $240

                9th:           Bill Naron, Beaverdam, Va., three bass, 8-0, $214

                10th:        Al Berkley, Madison Heights, Va., three bass, 7-9, $187

Kevin Fore of Powhatan, Virginia, weighed a 5-pound, 8-ounce bass which earned him the day’s Co-angler Big Bass award and $192.
