The Arkansas Game and Fish Division has been diligently working behind the scenes to ensure they stock superior Florida Bass.

This year, they teamed up with Red Hills Fishery of Georgia to carry out a comprehensive genetic and physical evaluation of hatchery broodstock. This initiative involved gathering information from over 1,000 Florida Bass at the Andrew H. Hulsey and Joe Hogan State Fish Hatcheries.

These broodstock are used to produce over a million Florida Bass fingerlings, which are stocked annually in public waters. The innovative trophy bass marker panel developed by Red Hills Fishery will be essential in optimizing the chances of stocking fingerlings that will grow to trophy sizes.

During the same visit, Red Hills Fishery provided their signature TITAN MAXX™ males, which will be crossed with 10-pound females donated through the Legacy Lunker program starting next spring. These TITAN MAXX™ males are offspring of Florida Bass parents with specific trophy-bass genetic markers known for their exceptional growth potential.

The Arkansas Game and Fish Division is proud of their partnership with Red Hills Fishery and are excited to begin this new era of trophy-sized fish, elevating Arkansas Bass Fishing to new heights!
