This video is for all you guys that think the free rig is exactly the same thing as the Texas rig, particularly after the first cast when you think the weight has snug up right up to the bait and then it works just like a Texas rig.

You can see here, that is not the case. Every time, with every lift, you drop rapidly and that weight will slide all the way down and when it hits the bottom, then the bait falls freely.

Now this is in a small tank. Imagine if you're out on the river or lake, you can lift the rod up higher, creating greater separation between the weight and the bait and it's the unique characteristics of the free rig sinker that allow it to create a maximum amount of separation and that's what gives you that nice action that you want to get, unique to the free rig.

So guys, if you've been hesitating to try the free rig, you don't have an excuse any further. Go out, give it a shot and you're going to catch a lot of fish.
