Arkansas Game and Fish Commission recently stocked Largemouth Bass fingerlings in two West Central Arkansas pools of the Arkansas River - Lake Dardanelle and Ozark Pool. Here's a look at the numbers and locations where bass were stocked in the two pools:
Lake Dardanelle (46,887 total) – Piney Bay Access: 16,362 two-inch fingerlings; Dardanelle Bay Access: 25,300 two-inch fingerlings; Shoal Bay Access: 5,225 two-inch fingerlings.
Ozark Pool (25,813 total) – White Oak Creek Access: 12,750 two-inch fingerlings; Vine Prairie Access: 13,063 two-inch fingerlings.
These stockings will supplement natural reproduction that occurs in the river. The fish should begin to reach “keeper size” in about three years, enhancing the fishing experience on these popular waters for years to come.
