Got bored today and have had this idea in my head for a while so I put it together.  If it works out well I will re do it a little nicer.  It is not connected to the boat, the battery will hold it in place.  It is made from my old battery box that I never used and some PVC and zip ties.  Think it will work?

8 rods on a bass raider??  That's a go big or go home statement if I ever saw one😄.   But looks good and like it will work fine. The only thing I will say is that one of the best things I liked about my bass raider was being able to swivel around and fish out the back without having to move the boat around. Other than that looks sweet!!

Thats how I roll!!!  LOL  Seriously, I don't know how I will like it, I generally fish out of the front of the boat so that shouldn't be too much of a problem.  My concern is hooking one while casting or catching them on a low hanging tree branch or something.  I will give it a test run next weekend to see how I like it.

I dig all the lamiglass rods, just got my first one, and love it. Great rods. Yeah ide worry bout catching one in a cast, do your rods have leashes or some sort of flotation attached to them? I know kayak anglers will wrap closed cell foam around the handle near the butt. Something to think about.....

If you fish around any cover at all, it's just a matter of time before you catch a tip on a bush or a low handing branch or something.  If you get it stuck real good, you might tip over the battery.  How does the plastic in your boat react when you pour battery acid on it?   How do your rods & reels and assorted gear react when you inadvertently sprinkle battery acid on them?

I'm not an expert builder or anything like that, but I think a better design would be one that separated the battery from the rods.  Perhaps find a way to stabilize the battery where it is and then anchor the rod pod somewhere in the middle, behind the seat.

I don't know, solving one problem seems to create another.   For instance, where do you keep the cooler in that boat?
Anyway, an interesting problem.  Please show another picture when you get to the final design.  I'm interested.

I fish ALOT of cover, so that is an issue.

Don't really know how to anchor the rod holder.  Making any holes is not an option.  Didn't really want to load it up with liquid nails or anything cuz that can make a huge mess and I don't know how much I will even use this thing.

Cooler?  I never bring one.  Cup of coffee and a Mt. Dew usually.  My trips are generally not more than 5 hours.

I will probably junk this thing.  In reality, if I had all 8 of my rods in the boat I would never get any serious fishing done, I would just keep switching baits!!

Thanks

Definitely OVERKILL but I love where you were going with this!! I usually carry 3 rods and that gets rough at times. I have a thin plywood floor that is carpeted with I/O carpet and I use screw hooks to tie down my rods with a bungie cord. Great setup here and I'm jealous of all your nice rods LOL!
Everyone dies but not everybody lives.... keep fishing!

You bring up a valid point about having too many options for rods and never concentrating on one bait/technique. I tend to bring 2 rods at a time. I fish small areas of water usually where the truck is no more than 10 acres or so away and I can make my way around to pick up my others if needed.
