Asked on another forum since I know there is an Abu guru there, but got no replies. I picked up a few of these reels, but know nothing about them. I did find a site with a schematic drawing of the reel. Seller may have mentioned the gear ratio, but not sure and not where I can check his correspondence. One poster mentioned in the ad that they make great cranking and spinnerbait reels. First reel is going on my 7' cranking rod so I can switch the Fuego to one of my new Fenwick Smallmouth rods.

Interested in any information you may have including any links to reviews.

You may wonder why I picked up a reel I know nothing about. Well, I've been wanting to try a round reel. Specifically one of the smaller Abu reels. I have since found out that the Pro Max is a hot rodded Black Max, but had a paint job instead of being anodized which makes the finish nowhere near as durable as the one on the Black Max.

Seller said I would be surprised at how well it cast. I don't like tinkering as a normal rule. However, this is one time that I would try any upgrades myself given the price of the reels, and that Abu reels are suppose to be easy to work on. Sorry Mike! :) You know you've been getting my other reels for cleaning/upgrades.

Also can anyone give me information on the 4600 UC reels? I've considered purchasing one of these as well, but have no knowledge of this model either. I only got back into fishing 3 years ago, so there are tons of reels I know absolutely nothing about. Thanks.
