  1. I see you're in Michigan. You'll want breathable waders, even if you get a kayak. I'd start there.
  2. I can see a 5" Senko, unweighted being okay with this reel, but it would really depend on the rod. The reel wasn't really designed for light baits, though. One really cool feature is that you can reengage the spool with the twitching bar. This makes it an excellent candidate for pitching.
  3. The heck with his style, look at that garage!
  4. Carp drive me nuts, especially during the spawn. They're overly disruptive when spawning.
  5. I meant to make the pot worth it, heh.
  6. The main thing is to get them back underwater within 60 seconds. There is talk that the black spots we often see on fish, especially smallmouth, might be from handling them. In that case, it may be best to just lip them. Who knows... all I can say, is be prepared, have the net ready, pliers close by, camera reay, etc. One tip, for gys that have boats with livewells, is to give the fish a few minutes in the livewell, to recuperate, and then get a picture. Especially if you took a while to get the hook out.
  7. 7-pin? Does the trailer have brakes? I'll bet that you only are using 5 of the wires, Left (green), right (yellow), running (brown), ground (white), and it sounds like you are chargng, so another for that (red). You can get an adapter for that. My truck is 7 pin, and I have both a 7 to 5 and 7 to 4 pin adapters, since I have two boats, one with brakes. The adapters I bought are both labeled and have a little light indicator to verify what light is firing. The big thing will be fishing out that red charge connection to the truck. I'd probably abandon it, and get a separate charger.
  8. I think we're about done here. Let's not be bashing guys.
  9. Thanks. The shirt is a bit of an inside joke. I hadn't made that tournament for a couple years, and when I announced I was coming, there was some smack talk. I basically said I would be a boater for this one, and was coming to show them how to win, lol. Hence, the Jedi T.
  10. Do it like this, and you won't do any damage: Largemouth: Sideways: Smallmouth: Sideways: I don't particularly care for the over the nape/behind the gills, but sometimes you gotta what you gotta do, especially with dinks.
  11. That's a good looking sammich fish right there!
  12. 20 boats is plenty big enough.
  13. Mechanically speaking, the Sustain has a more elaborate spool support system and a more precise drag. Otherwise, both use virtually the same internals.
  14. This sounds sketchy. I hope that's charge line is FUSED. Sounds like you have a 5-wire harness. Here's a basic 4-wire trailer diagram. The white is the ground. That's what I'd go with for this application. A trickle charger will work fine with your battery.
  15. That's the right color, too.
  16. And what is the deal with Hammonds Lake? I can barely see water on Google earth.
  17. That looks VERY interesting. What days is it usually held? If it's a Friday-Sunday thing, it could be do able.
  18. Based on the surplus packages of Rage Craws I find in stacks all over the house, boat, and garage, I'd have say them. Seems like I grab a half dozen packages every time I go to the store, whether I need them or not!
  19. I don't like the JSM simply because of the hook. I use a 1/3 oz. Acme Lil' Cleo.
  20. Agitation. Walleye guys have been doing weird things for years, like dragging chain link fencing and coming back to fish the area. Often, if you can get one fish to bite, you'll "ignite" the others in the area.
  21. Put a spoon on the middle bait, but replace the treble with a single trailer style hook.
  22. I think if you have four dinks, and you know it's you, not the fish, that might change the mindset a little.
  23. I have eight Shimano, and twice as many Daiwa, and pepper in some Pinnacle and even a Quantum.
  24. The Force is strong with me.
