Very nice work! I like your bluegill and tomato shad patterns. 8-)
  2. I really like the greens you did in this bunch, especially that chrome lime tiger pearl. That one is just plain sick. 8-) Keep up the good work. Ben
  3. Thanks for the suggestion, but there aren't any tackle shops near where I live so that really isn't an option for me. I'm going to a craft show, not a flea market. At a flea market, you're right, people would probably be looking for a deal because they expect people to be trying to get rid of stuff they don't want. But at a craft show (where people pay to get in), folks will come expecting to pay more for a product that is handmade. I've got business cards. If someone buys one of my lures and really likes it, I want them to know where to get more. ;) Ben

That top one is just awesome.
  5. Thanks everybody for your input. Nick76, these are lures that I made specifically to sell to make money, I'm not just selling some old lures. Ben
  6. I'm taking some lures to a craft show in about a week and I'm not sure about pricing. This will be the first time I have done this. Anyone have any suggestions about what I should charge for lures like the ones below? Edit: These are NOT for sale here. I am not advertising for my lures.
  7. My biggest was about 16". I caught it at a farm pond on a Pikie knock-off that I made. I don't remember what time it was, but it was sunny with a slight breeze. Here's the bait:
  8. Thanks for the info! Can't wait to see your next ones. Ben
  9. Thanks Big M. On the poppers, I didn't try to cup the mouth; I just left it as a notch. I haven't tested them after topcoating yet but they should work as they still have a fairly deep notch. Maybe a deeper cup in your poppers it would fix the problem of epoxy building up and destroying the action.
  10. How wide did you make yours?
  11. I got my super-deep purple crank topcoated (sorry about the lousy pic) and I also finished up some poppers. The purple popper is foiled and then sprayed purple using Krylon X-metals paint.
  12. 2" thick stock!? How big is that bait?
  13. I really like the shape of this one. Great job! Ben
  14. Amazing work. I like the blue marks on the gill plate.
  15. This is the closest I can find. http://www.***.com/descpageRIVERSOFT-R2SNR.html
  16. That thing is killer! I wish I could paint half as well as you.
  17. I was looking at old posts on another forum that I "lurk" at and I found these. They have some of the coolest paint I have ever seen on lures, especially the first lure in the first link. http://www.stripersonline.com/surftalk/showthread.php?t=572992 http://www.stripersonline.com/surftalk/showthread.php?t=590736
  18. That is one sharp bait! 8-)
  19. Just got back from testing it. It dives very well and has a very tight, fast wobble. Still no clue how deep it dives. I'm pretty sure it will be in the 15-20 ft. range though. Ben
  20. Thanks all for the kind words. BobP and Big M, thanks for the info. I will definitely try that on my next baits. Ben
  21. Can you post pics to show what you mean?
  22. Those look great! I really like that mama cat. I may have to try making one... ;)
  23. Here's a link that will show you how to get a flawless E-Tex or Flex-Coat finish. http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/topic/12510-trying-to-achieve-a-flawless-finish/ Note: I measure my epoxy using Flex-Coat epoxy syringes and in order to make sure that I mix the epoxy thoroughly I mix it for three minutes. Those two little things have made working with Flex-Coat much easier for me. Hope this helps. Ben
  24. Thanks guys. ABLE2DISABLE1, I made that crank myself. I based it on pics of the Rapala DT series. Also, that crank is not small! The body is three inches long and the bill is the same, so the whole thing is 6". I'm thinking it will dive maybe 18-20 feet? The only problem is the pond that I test my lures in is only about 12-15 ft. deep at the deepest point so I won't know for sure. Ben
  25. How many Poes crankbaits do you have? ;D j/k It looks great!
