GRiver's post in Floating Jerkbaits was marked as the answerI’ve gotten a lot of bites on the pause, and it’s floating back up. I like to do a rod sweep to get it started down, then jerk, jerk, reel up slack, repeat. Then after a few of those a pause and let it float up for a few seconds or until it surfaces.
Sometimes I’ll count how long it takes to surface and do a rod sweep a second before it surfaces. Trying to mimic a dying minnow and it’s effort to stay down.

GRiver's post in Nothing beats time on the water. was marked as the answerThis forum is a vast wealth of information, you have to take it out on (or to) the water and make it work for you.
Then you can bring back what you learned and share that advice with everyone here.
Nothing beats “time on the water” in my book. I like to think I learn something every time I go out, even the tough days.
If nothing else, I’ve learned “what not to do”

GRiver's post in When to use different types of finesse baits was marked as the answerHere is what I would do, rig two or more poles with different bait finesse jig, shakey head. If your can’t bring two pole have it ready to retie.
Fish the same area with both, then move on, but
then you got to ask yourself, “ wonder if I’m using the right color….. do they want junebug or green pumpkin”.

GRiver's post in The Hawg Hunters was marked as the answerI’ve been spending more time Hawg Hunting here lately. Watch the weather, look for a rain shower at the right time of the day to let the barometric pressure work me, wind, temperature, sun position, etc… I kinda pick my time and place for Hawg Hunting. Other days I just fish.
