  1. Oh and the 3lb one my six year old got to reel in.
  2. So my friend and i decided to brave 30mph gusts and downpour rain to fish. It was worst conditions i have fished in but worked out to be the best day yet. We boated 14 keepers. The smallest of these was 16 inches. 8 of the keepers were caught by friend and i got big fish that topped out at 5lb. Yesterday i caught a 3 and a 4 and the day before that i caught a 4 with my kids. What a 3 day stretch. 16 keepers out of 18 fish in 9 total hours of fishing over three days. WOW!!!!!
  3. Thinking about hitting Hudson saturday. Anyone know where any public launches are. I have been searching internet but sounds like public access is limited. ?????Thanks for the replies
  4. Hey guys, i live in Niles Michigan and want to do some early bassin in indiana. Any decent lakes within 30 miles or so of me that would be good. Or should i just hit the St. Joe for smallies. With Catch and release a month away in michigan would like to do some legal bass fishing. What about Mud Lake just across the state line? Hudson lake near laporte? Suggestions please! Public boat launch needed also.
  5. I went and looked at one lake nearby and it is still froze over. But the St. Joe doesnt really freeze over. Just boat launches freeze. Ive been out 5 times on the river so far. 3 bites no fish. River temp is 47.5. Be out sunday too rain or shine. Thanks for all the welcomes.
  6. Hey, im from Niles Michigan. I fish mostly on the St. Joe River in Niles MI. Mainly fish for smallies but like any good fight. Run into some walleye and some nice largemouths on the river but mostly smallmouth. My grandparents lived on Pipestone Lake in Eau Claire Michigan so i grew up fishing. It wasnt until i was in my early 20s did really start to fish regularly though. Now from spring till fall im usually out 2-4 times a week. Half the time with my 5 year old daughter and 7 year old son. Thanks and hello to all members.
  7. Bandit 200's, shad raps, small jigs with grubs. Pretty much crank most of the time. Those 4pounders just cant seem to leave those bandits alone. Usually anything brown, yellow, green. Then i switch to more shad colors towards fall.
  8. New on here but an avid smallie hunter. I fish the St. Joe River in Niles Michigan. Best last year was 4-7 and put up quite a fight. Hope pics work. Thanks
