I use steel leaders when fishing spinner baits in Minnesota because of the Northerns. Doesn't really seem to affect the Bass bite much. Wouldn't recommend them for other baits.

Thanks Nick. We fish the Gull Lake chain every June. Great bass fishery. Do pretty much what you suggest only with Texas rigged Power Worms and spinner baits.

Yet you listed diarrhea brown. I'll have to look for that color when I'm at Cabela's next week.
