    Pretty much my findings.   I also believe the labeled "fast" action to be more of a "mod fast" action, making it a solid choice for anything, but especially moving baits.   The handle is on the shorter side of what I prefer, but all in all a good budget rod.

    The anti reverse bearing is all that is needed.  . That said, you can bend the ears in, and grease the area it makes contact, and it should be OK.  The pawl is a backup, if you leave it in.
