Places To Fish From Shore In Boca Raton?
If you fish these canal banks, wear boots! I have walked up on snakes many times along these banks especially if there is a lot weeds in the water, along the bank. Better safe then sorry.

Sunday 2/8/15 Alley, West Of The River
Sunday 2/8/15, MM39 North side, 7:00 - 1:00, wind 10-15 East, partly cloudy, water clear, W/T 67*, water level down a little. Went out today with Jim Seachrist. Jim went in his boat and I went in mine. We ran to the end and fished back west to the ramps. I started with a u-vibe and caught a few early. Things were looking good but for some reason when the sun came up things just died. We went several hours with just an occasional bite. Jim left at 11:00 and around 11:30 things got crazy again. From 11:30 to 1:00 the bite was constant but you had to be back in the pads. Caught more the last hour then the first 4 hours together. That's fishing for yah!!!! We threw a variety of plastics from, u-tails, flukes, trick worms, frogs, creature baits, stick-o's, lizards, and centipedes. I ended up with 35 caught, 2.5 was the biggest. Jim caught a few nice ones also. It was another relaxing, fun day, but a strange day.

Alley Fishing 2/1/15
This year was an aggressive year for gators on the Alley. We had a ten footer come aggressively at the boat from a distance (at least 40 yards)and did not stop. When he got within 5 feet of the back of the boat, I hit the trolling motor on high. He accelerated along side the boat, and then hit the boat with its tail. Very unnerving! I have been fishing a long time on the alley, and never had a gator that aggressive. It was obvious he was ticked we were in his territory.

Most Terrifying Fishing Experience?
Fishing the Putin Bay Area of Lake Erie, we were having a great day drifting the Islands off the Canada side and catching a bunch of Walleye, when dark clouds started building to the north west. By the time we rounded Putin Bay and the shelter of the Island we were almost in trouble in a 27 foot boat. The waves went from dead calm to 6 foot in no time at all. We had a 20 mile run, and it was a white knuckle ride.

Everglades Fishing Report
Sam it was great to see you out there Sunday. Glad you and your partner got into some bass. There are some big girls there but most are still where the food is, back in the junk. Good luck with the boat.

Alley Fishing 2/1/15
Those big old girls are back in the sawgrass and way back in all the junk. They are feasting on everything that lives out there. When the water starts to drop they will seek out deeper water and many will move back into the canals or die. The canal fishing will get crazy for a few months until the summer rains.

Alley Fishing 2/1/15
Alligator alley MM39, 2/1/15, Super Bowl Sunday, Temps 60-70, wind 10-25 ESE, clear sky, water clear, W/T 68*, no signs of bedding fish. Went out today at 7:00 with Dave (Canesfan), and fished the north side of the Alley until mother nature encouraged us to leave. We ran to the dead end and started fishing with an assortment of plastics. On the first cast I hooked a healthy 3.5 bass. Then the action was constant and conditions were near perfect. We caught most on stick-o's and flukes. Before the wind came up I was throwing weightless and getting a walking action through the pads. Around 10:00 the wind got ridicules. It was a steady 25, and I had to add weight. Big problem at that point was you could not feel the bite and it was hard to keep the bow out of the line. At this point it was apparent, it was time to get the chicken wings and tacos ready for the big show. We finished the day with 45 bass caught. Both Dave and I lost big fish way back it the pads wrapped in the pads. It was a fun morning, and we are so lucky to live where we can fish all year around. Can't wait to go again.

When Does The Bass Fishing Pick Up In Fl?
Fishing has been consistently pretty good in South Florida. There are a lot of dinks but there has also a good number of chunks, and a few big ones. As Lou stated it will continue to get better in the next few months until the summer rains start. Glades fishing will get ridicules in March and April. 150 to 200 fish a day will be a real possibility. Keep dipping your lure and good things will happen.

Costa Sunglasses Question
The green lenses would be better for bass fishing and shallow water. The blue would be better for ocean fishing deep water. I have had two pair of greens.

Lost Art?
Flipping and pitching is just a different type of short cast. Its all part of the arsenal. Do what feels good for you, and the conditions. The goal is to have as much fun as possible.

I'm My Own Worst Enemy..........
- How Many Days A Year Do You Fish
- I'm My Own Worst Enemy..........
I'm addicted to action!!!!! As long as bass are hitting my lure I'm a happy camper. Give me a half hour of no action and its a miserable day. I would rather have 100 nice fish, then one big hawg and nothing else. I'm obviously not in a tournament mode. I love setting the hook regardless of what is on the other end.- How Many Days A Year Do You Fish
- Lessons Learned From Others Mistakes
1). Put the plug in at home before leaving for the water. Over the years I have I have forgot to do it several times. 2). When fishing with treble hooks don't try to power the lure out of weeds or brush. Several trips to the hospital to cut out a deep buried hook, I learned that lesson twice. 3). With a rear drive truck don't put the back wheels in the water on a steep concrete ramp. I sat for a half hour with my foot on the brakes, until a group of guys came along, and helped push it out. 4). Don't shut down a boat on plane in shallow water. I watched two guys in their underwear, pushing a boat 100 yards off a mud flat, in 40* February weather, on Lake Okeechobee. A few lessons learned!- Everglades Fishing Report
Sunday 1/25/15, Alligator Alley MM 39. Went out today after the cold front with Dave (Canesfan). We were not expecting much because a good front can turn off Florida Bass quickly, and a blue bird sky, a double whammy. To our pleasant surprise we had almost constant action for most of the morning. You had to fish slow and just slowly pull the plastics to be on the bite. Vast majority were in the pads. We ended with at least 70, solid fish and good fight getting them out of the pads. All around fun day, and lots of action.- Winter Sucks
Move south!!!!!! I did it 40 years ago and never regretted it. I fish 52 weeks a year.- What Are Outdoors Shows Like?
I have been to several shows in Florida that I thought were excellent. One was in Orlando 30 years ago and all the big boat companies, tackle companies and many pros were there. There was a great one in West Palm Beach by the race track that was very good. That also was 30 years ago. These were all freshwater shows and went on for several days. I think the big sporting companies have caused them to fade away.
