  1. whats everyones favorite knot for Yo zuri? i know there are certain knots that dont work with fluorocarbon, are there any i should stay away from with yozuri?
  2. I tried fitting my plastics into two plano boxes but that didnt last for long.. now ive got a soft cooler with six 1 gallon ziplocks divided into 1)Craws/brushogs 2)Lizards 3)Trick Worms/Finesse 4)Senkos 5)Flukes 6)Zoom Mag II/curly tail/ribbon tail worms. I keep my jig trailers in the same box as my jigs.
  3. Pflueger president. Just got one for christmas and its super smooth and a great price. I got one of the smaller sizes for senkos, flukes, and shakey heads. I also have some shimano siennas for saltwater that ive used many times and still work great. I cant justify spending 100+ on a spinning reel when there are many at or under 50+ that work just fine, plus if they break or eventually wear out there easy to replace.
  4. What kind of rods do they accept? obviously it has to work but im assuming theyll accept anything as long as it works? How much should I expect to get, dependent on the rod/reel?
  5. Just updating the thread i got the 7'2 MH casting and 6'8 spinning diesell for christmas.. put a lews speed spool on the casting and a president on the spinning. Love the way they look and feel so far. Havent used them yet but cant wait to try them Ill update when i actually get to use them.
  6. I like it weightless and twitched over bass beds in the spawn. I throw it on a spinning rod, same rod i throw senkos on
  7. thanks for the replies and yeah it sounds like im going to end up just getting all of em serviced before spring Thanks!
  8. haha im not really sure how to get the bearings out? Its probably something simple im hoping but cant figure it out.
  9. No i didnt flush the bearings. How do you do that? Run it through water? And yeah i put it back together the right way i think its either putting too much/not enough and the bearings things you said. Thanks for the quick help
  10. I just cleaned by lews speed spool and put all the right lubricants on the right things im pretty sure. Put oil on the bearings and spool shaft and grease on the gears in the lube port. Now when i reel the reel it doesnt feel as smooth as it did before? Did i put to much grease on the gears? not enough? When I wind it really hard then let it go it feels ok at first but then feels rough at the end if that makes any sense. I cleaned off all the excess/old grease and oil before I applied the new. Thanks for any help!
  11. had same problem with some of my cheaper baitcasters and use pliers as well
  12. add squarebills to the list above,, and an a-rig
  13. im also looking to get a president soon havent found a single bad review
  14. would a 7'2" work for pitching? mh fast
  15. Do all rods on *** go on a 20% sale on black friday?
  16. Thanks for all the replies and suggestions. Im definatly going to look around for a deal so i can get the best possible rod for my money. Also thanks for the suggestion on the pitching rod doubling as a trig because im also thinking about getting a new trig rod but now i could spend a little more on one rod if its going to double.
  17. Im looking to get two different setups: 1) Finesse spinning rod for wacky rig senkos, weightless trick worms, flukes, shakey heads,etc... Have been looking at Field and stream tec spec 6'10" mxf and the powell diesel 6'10mxf.. any other recommendations around that price range? are those the right actions and powers i should be looking at? 2)Flipping/pitching rod.. i fish kerr lake/buggs island alot and when the water level rises drastically in the spring, it submerges bushes, trees, etc. everywhere. Im looking for a rod for throwing lizards, jigs, creatures, etc. in there during the spring. No idea on rod length, power, etc. Dont have any flipping or pitching rods. Trying to stay right around 100, preferably lower since it will be primarily used just during spring Thanks.
  18. picked up a wacky tool today for like 5 bucks to try out. If i dont like it, its only five bucks gone, but i have a feeling its going to help alot. Thanks to everyone
  19. Thanks im definatly looking foward to not having to go through so many worms
  20. Does anyone use these? Do they actually save more worms? It seems that with the hook being parallel to the worm hookups wouldnt be as good? Thanks
  21. i have a 6'6" ml for small cranks and squarebills and absolutely love it! cant beat the price, theyve got a great feel and look in my opinion
