Three Decent Fish Via Crankin' & Windin'
The bite in middle Ga is still very slow. The water is cold enough to keep drinks. Had a couple of warm days, I fished both, tried two locations the second day and found myself back at the slow but sure. It took off fast with two nice fish in about 20 mins and then ebbed to nothing, the day prior I had one bite one fish, probably should've been throwing a jerkbait and working it slow, but I was resigned to crank and wind. We have more cold weather forthcoming so I imagine the proper pre-spawn feed has to be delayed. these fish are not as skinny as they look, they're well built just no bellies to speak of, you can tell they haven't been eating much over the winter. If we get a warming trend toward the end of the month all three of these fish will be 5 lbs, the biggest may be 6#. footballs galore. My pb from this lake is 7# and it was 21"x17" (total length/tail pinched. had three strikes and three nice fish. 4lb 3oz, 5 lb 2 oz, and 4 lb 14 oz.

I'd love to fish some of those Mexican lakes...

Hyperpigmented Melanosis
I've caught a lot of bass (largemouth) with hyperpigmented melanosis over the years. but this has to be hands down the worst one I've ever seen. I read that Auburn University was researching the cause of this, thus far it's unknown. Anyone know anything? The head of this fish reminds me of a dark skinned person that has those white splotches from a pigmentation issue - the bass looks a fleshy pink color as if it's albino.

How Much Does This Bass Weigh!!!!
here's a 7 lb 14 oz pig that was caught post spawn last year. she was 23.5" (total length) x 17" girth. I saw this fish boil on a point, I believe she was marauding a bream bed. now 23.5" total length is more like 23" or less regular length and under 23" fork length, let this fish looks just as long as the one you're holding. this fish looks bigger and longer than it is, would've loved to have weigh her on a boga, digitals had to do

How Much Does This Bass Weigh!!!!
it's a nice fish but it's definitely not healthy. I don't think it's 27" long. I'm gonna go 7.25 tops I never used fork length just measured to the end of the tail open, then I started hanging around fisheries biologists that measure fish with the tail pinched (total length). that's also how game wardens do it when checking ppl's creels.

yes, fixing the lettering would be very difficult and tedious. so yes blacking out the lettering helped the fish look right- Post Photos Of Your Double Digit Bass
great fish, looks like you've enhanced your photo some as well, drop shadow or something. 10 pounders aren't as common on the big o as they used to be huh? Even if you're shiner fishing? I had a friend go out with Tom Mann and he caught a 9 lber on shiner which is pretty cool. I've always wanted to fish the big o. are there any huge bass in the glades? I've been told by biologists that southern florida isn't as good for giant bass as northern and central...- Post Photos Of Your Double Digit Bass
yes of course, the 10-10 that had eaten a channel cat fell to this- Post Photos Of Your Double Digit Bass
I have only landed 8 double digit bass. I have lost two fish for sure that were double digits and another that is questionable. I know a fellow here in Georgia that has caught over 200 double digit fish - he's an amazing fisherman, not some hyperbolized thing you read about in a magazine but the real thing. My accomplishments pale in comparison to someone like that but it doesn't mean that I'm not proud of my eight big fish. Jeff and Dwight, those Mexican bass are awesome. If and when I have the coin I would love to fish down there. Thanks for sharing your fish of a lifetime. Keep the photos coming guys. N.B. the additional photo postings are alternate views of the 8 fish in the original post. I had intended to give several pictures of each fish in one post. keep the pigbeasts coming guys! I'm waiting on the California guys to get in on the act, w/ no bbcode on this forum that could be kinda time consuming for some of those trophy hunters- Post Photos Of Your Double Digit Bass

Post photos of your double digit black bass. Nothing under 10 lbs please. Here are mine. Two were donated, which I would never do again. The others were released. Please disregard the over extended jaw photos near the bottom, as you can see I have long since learned how to properly hold them. The jaw hold on the F1 below is very appropriate. F1 Largemouth 10 lbs 8 oz 24" x 20.5" (total length) 02/29/12 Largemouth 10 lbs 10z - - w/ channel catfish in throat - 02/22/12 Not measured! DOH! I believe this fish is an FX F1 Largemouth - 10 lbs 1 oz 25" x 18 7/8" girth (total length) -02/15/12 Largemouth 12 lbs 4 oz 25" x 21 1/8" (tail open) - 02/09/12 my PB - I'm leaning toward FX Largemouth - 10 lbs plus (10.37) 25"x19" (tail open) - 02/02/12 I am almost positive this is an F1 Fx Largemouth 10 lbs 25 1/8" x 18 1/4" (tail open) 04/09/09 Fx Largemouth 10 lbs 8 oz 26"x19" -tail open-- 03/12/09 Fx Largemouth 10 lbs 3 oz 26"x19" -tail open-- 03/11/09 The biggest framed bass I have ever caught, my pb is comparable but this fish is a tad bigger, imagine if she had a huge distended gut.- Using Photoshop On Fish Pics
more than that, I didn't even hold her right to showcase her true size, too much back and not enough belly, the fish is twisted. I also forgot to measure her in my haste. she had eaten a sizable channel catfish which undoubtedly contributed to her weight. however, she was a long fish. a bit beat up and pale looking in comparison to some of the other giants which were caught from there.- Using Photoshop On Fish Pics
NB this is not my PB but another big fish I landed a couple of weeks later..- Using Photoshop On Fish Pics
I noticed that there are many threads on here about anglers using photoshop to augment or embellish their catches. I understand the criticism. However, in my case, utilizing a graphic designer to mop up blurs and mistakes due to bad photography and self portraits is a viable utility. I posted various photos of my pb, the exposure is terrible on most of them and several of them are extremely blurry. As I said before it was the best I could do at the time as the fish had to be put back in the water as soon as possible. I've had one of those photos sharpened and worked on to improve the visibility of the fish. I am going to have the others worked on as well to give a more realistic and accurate rendering of the memories, I am not blue as i am depicted in the photographs if you take my meaning. I just thought I would put this out there as food for thought. I had a friend, an older fella with eyesight inferior to my own, smudge a lens just prior to photographing a 10 lb 10 oz bass for me. it blurred the entire midsection of the fish. I was devastated. i had a few other photos of the fish and had a two clever graphic designers work on it, one of which sampled another photo of the bass and supplanted the missing scale detail, the other that adjusted the color and rebuilt the small dorsal fan. you might say i look a tad bit like a golden brown pancake faced Gary Cooper out of one of Ted Turner's colorized movies, but honestly, I think they did pretty darn good work to bring a ruined photo back from the dead. 1) original smudged photo 2) revised photo utilizing lateral line and scale detail from another photo of the same fish 3) revised photo featuring the progress in 2) but with a rebuilt small dorsal fin and compensation for the overexposure and color issues so if you would tell me if you prefer number 2 or 3 for this fish. 10 lb 10 oz - Post Photos Of Your Double Digit Bass
