  1. If you wanna stay clear of the weeds instead of slamming through them, try a topwater plug. Hula Poppers, Jitterbugs, any buzzbaits or topwater frogs would probably work great. Texas-rigged tubes are a great way to fish the weeds with minimal snags. if you want something that rattles, get a square billed shallow diving crank or a Rapala
  2. Sorry about the title, my cellphones acting up.
  3. First, i'd like to apologize in advance if this has been posted before, but the responses should be interesting. we've almost surely all tried something just to see if it would work, or when we were kids or maybe just because someone told us it would. as a kid, gummy worms were one of the oddest things i ever used. i've also used beef jerky because of it's saltiness. how about y'all?
  4. My best baits for smallest are White Mister Twister grubs and green pumpkin Strike King tubes, both fished on 1/8oz jigheads. If you wanna give top water a try, go buy an Arbogast Jitterbug. Smallies love em.
  5. Hi y'all. My name's Matt. As my name implies I'm from West Virginia. I've been fishing since I was 3, but only this year have begun to really take lure fishing seriously. I can't afford a boat, so I bank fish a lot. Around here, that means hitting the Greenbrier River for smallmouths. I'm a huge fan of Bassresource's YouTube videos and they led me to this site. Glad to be here. Looking forward to learning a lot.
  6. I've been fishing all my life, but only this year have begun to take lures seriously. My two favs are softbaits: a 3" white Mister Twister grub and green pumpkin Strike King tubes, both of which I fish with 1/8oz jigheads. It's not a softbait, but another go-to for me is a spinnerbait. The most versatile for me is Chartreuse/White with a silver Colorado blade. Go check out Bassresource's channel on YouTube. I've learned more from his videos about baits and techniques than anybody I know has ever taught me. Best of luck to you!
