  1. Ok. Do most of you drag or hop your jig. I have seen videos mention one either one being the better, what do you folks think?
  2. That is what I have read. I just wanted a few unbiased opinions. So craw trailer or straight jig without?
  3. I am new to the use of mop head jigs (aka bass jigs) I have never once seen people using them in the michigan lakes I fish, do you think they are a good idea for this time of year in michigan? In theory, I figure if others are not using them I could do good due to a new presentation to the bass in these lakes, or there could be a good reason no one is using them. I want to add that they are bottom draggers not vertical jigs. What do you think?
  4. My name is Todd, I live in the detroit area, I fish small lakes mostly from shore and from my kayak when time allows, I just started fishing about a month ago. I am having a lot of fun learning, I don't have any expectations other than having fun and learning something new each week. So far I learned to cast, I have learned a few basic rig setups, some knots, and I am working on casting skills. I think the one thing I really need to improve is my ability to recognize features and locations I should be casting to. I also want to take the next step up in a rod and reel combo, I have a $30 Shakespeare open spinning rod and reel, I figure the next step is a $60 combo, I just don't really know the brands yet, I think I should get a med 6'6" rod and reel combo other than that I just don't know what I should care about yet, if you have advice on what to choose as my next rig.
