  1. It is basically tennis elbow. Google tennis elbow and you will find a number of techniques to stretch and work the muscles to eliminate it. While it is bothering you be sure to use ice religiously.
  2. This is a bit off topic but related. A number of years ago, before GPS, I fished a BASS tournament on Toledo Bend. I went there a few weeks prior with my brand new Ranger 350V and tried to learn the lake. I fished with, Johnny Slack, one of the greatest guides I have ever fished with. I met several of the up and coming pros to include Tommy Martin, Bo Dowden and Larry Nixon. To my surprise on the first day of the tournament I drew Larry Nixon. I chose to go as a non boater that day. I enjoyed the day and learned a lot; even placed well in the standings. The next day I drew Forrest Woods and again chose to go as a non boater. Right off the bat Forrest went to the best spot Larry Nixon had fished on the previous day. I told Forrest about that and he basically ignored me, stating that another angler had told him about this spot and that it was Okay. I really did not know any better and I proceeded to have the best day of my tournament life and ended up on the leader board ahead of big names like Roland Martin, Jimmy Houston and others. Forrest camped out on the spot all day long and at one point Larry showed up and fished the spot for a while. When he was ready to leave he made a point to come over to Forrest's boat and look me in the eye and say, "I have no respect for a man who comes in on another man's fish." It has been more than thirty years since that happened and I have never been able to explain to Larry how it happened and that I really did not do it. Forrest Woods boat was almost exactly the same as mine and I can understand how Larry could have thought that I came there on my own. I recently learned that Larry will be one of the featured Pros at a class in Louisiana this year and I plan to drive all the way up there and attend just to talk with Larry and explain what happened that day. I don't know if it will make any difference; Larry finished second to Roland Martin in the Louisiana invitational during that tournament by less than a pound if my memory serves me correctly. I don't feel I was at fault, but I have carried the memories of that tournament for more than three decades. My point; use the GPS if you like, but don't apply what you have learned to the tournament you are currently fishing--it will haunt you.
  3. Helms 83 When you DROS get in touch. My sister has a Tracker Pro 16 with a 40 hp Mariner. She does not use it any more and wants to sell it. If she still has it when you get back I'll buy it for you. It will have sat idle for a long time and will need a lot of TLC but right now it is in excellent shape and she runs it regularly and keeps the batteries charged so it should be OK. Bob Williams 101st--Camp Eagle 70-71' pitts97@aol.com P.S. The boat is in Florida
  4. I caught a few small stragglers early, but only saw one serious school of fish. They didn't stay up long enough to get a shot at them. Generally slow most of the day--lots of skiers and jet skis with pretty calm winds and high pressure.
  5. I will be fishing the Conway Chain in Orlando for the first time on Saturday. We plan to launch from the Hoffner ave ramp. Anybody out there with any reports or ideas of how to approach the lake? Really appreciate any ideas.
  6. I need a little favor from someone in the Central Florida area. I have a Humminbird 1197C that is not showing any returns in side imaging and I am troubleshooting it. Is there anybody in the area that would let me swap out units on both our boats to try to figure out if it is unit or transducer? I live in Howey in the Hills near Leesburg and will come to you. The operation should take about 15 minutes once the boats are in the water. Please send private email if you could help. Bob Williams
  7. "You can't catch a fish if your line isn't wet." Bob
  8. Anybody doing anything on the Harris Chain? I fished the lower end of Little Lake Harris on Thursday and got into a few schooling fish on the outside of the pads but only caught two.
  9. Hey FishinDaddy Give us a report on the fish camp when you get back. My wife and I are always looking for new places for trips.
  10. Hey etommy28 Let us know if the bite is still on. I can't try it until next week. I've never been there--where is a good launch?
  11. Are you guys talking about the Orange Lake near Ocala?
  12. Wow, I never thought of trying a spoon. Plain ole Johnson Spoon is one of my favorites too. Can't wait to try that next time I see active Peacocks. I might try a buzz bait too. Burning a buzz bait will have to be an awesome bite if they will hit it.
  13. I lived in Pembroke Pines and had a series of lakes in my neighborhood. I could watch the lake behind my condo and anytime I saw any sort of schooling activity I would go out and make a few casts. Ms. Fitsimmons at Everglades Pro Bass turned me on to a Rattletrap that has a spinner blade on the back. It has one treble hook that you tie your line directly onto the hook after passing through the lure. It is a weird kinda Rattletrap. Anyway every time there was schooling activity I caught lots of Peacocks on this Rattletrap. They are hard to find, but it seems most bright fire tiger type patterns work well. When there was no visible schooling action I would usually catch several large mouth.
  14. Appreciate it eTommy28
  15. I am looking for a very active club in central Florida. I live in Howey in the Hills (near Mount Dora) and primarily fish the Harris Chain.
  16. Could not agree with you more about the Ranger. I owned a ranger before this Skeeter but all of the Ranger dealers close to my home went out of business during the slow down and I thought I should get a reputable boat with a dealer close by. I know now that I would have been much better off buying another Ranger from any dealer rather that this Skeeter 20i. I am building a new home which will be finished soon. As soon as that is done I am trading for a Z 21. I know I will take a beating but I just can't be seen in this boat any longer.
  17. Definitely not a Skeeter. I bought a new Skeeter 20i a few months back and have found it to be one of the poorest boats out there as far a workmanship and factory support are concerned.
  18. Favorite: Ranger Z21 Least Favorite: 2009 Skeeter 20i. My new $50,000.00 + Skeeter 201 is by far the worst bass boat I have ever been in. The wiring is a total mess with no labels, in line circuit breakers placed haphazardly throughout the boat with no labels and the boat porpoises uncontrollably below 35mph with thousands of my personal dollars spent to try to fix the problem. No it is not operator induced. Two Skeeter Dealers, one the oldest dealer in Florida, have been unable to resolve the issue and the Skeeter Factory reps will not help them. I have called Skeeter customer service dozens of times over the last 10 months, only to get voice mails each time and I have yet to get a return call. Maria and Robert, check your voice mails. I am in the middle of building a new house and moving, but as soon as I get settled I am going to turn this piece of Skeeter into a Ranger. Anybody want a sweet deal on a like new Skeeter 20i with all the goodies? Don't know what a Ranger dealer will give me for it in trade but I will sell it to an individual at an incredible price when I am ready for the trade.
  19. Guess you're right about specifics. I have run boats of many types for many years and tried not to waste time explaining the obvious things you would try for a problem like this. The boat came with a manual jack plate so I tried lowering the motor 1/4 inch at a time about 1 1/2 inches then went back to the factory setting and repeated and reversed the process only going up. I tried every possible trim and throttle combination and no help. I have the Yamaha 250 by the way with the factory prop. I decided to try a hydraulic jack plate and had the Skeeter dealer install one, and yes it does have the wedges. Still with every combination of motor/jack trim the problem exists plus the boat is the slowest to plane that I have experienced and I have owned and run dozens of boats. The problem occurs after you get on plane and try to keep the speed under about 35. If you hit any sort of wave, the porpoising begins and the only way to stop it is to accelerate briskly. When you come off plane to stop the boat announces it's presence by porpoising violently and again no combinations of trim or throttle help. Yes it is still under factory warranty which is useless if they won't talk to you. I have left messages with Maria in customer service and never received a return call. I was told to speak with Robert in customer service but he has been mute after dozens of calls as well. Maybe I should just trade it.
  20. Maybe someone out there will have some ideas on this. About ten months ago I bought a new Skeeter 20i from a Skeeter Dealer. The boat has a problem porpoising at low speeds. Speeds below about 35 mph and it is impossible to nail an RPM because of the need to change throttle settings so frequently to stop the porpoising when it starts. The boat runs and handles beautifully at speeds above 40 with no tendency to porpoise. I fish a lake with lots of standing timber and racing around the lake at high speeds is, well...stupid. The lake is like Toledo Bend with no boat lanes except the lake is in Florida. Another problem is I have a Humminbird depth finder with side imaging which does not paint any structure. I have been through the owners manual several times and since I have been an airline pilot for several decades understanding electronics is something I have a pretty good handle on. Humminbird has been great about the problem and has worked with me on the water several times, but with no results. They believe it is some sort of rigging problem as do I because the unit does everything else perfectly except mark structure in side imaging mode. I have been to my dealer who can't find any problems and says there must be a problem with the unit plus the unit was wired at the factory and it is their problem. At that I went to another Skeeter dealer and got no help because they did not sell the boat. Both dealers can't get any thing that resembles a response from the Skeeter factory; which brings me to my real problem. I have been leaving messages at the Skeeter factory customer service and an individual extension that was given to me by one of the Skeeter dealers. I have received no response from them; not even a "We are sorry you are having problems, why don't you try this?" The wiring on the Skeeter is a nightmare. It has no breaker panel and nothing seems to go to or come from any central point; everywhere you look it is just a mess of wires that hang down from the console and float around in the equipment compartment. The dealer told me that that is typical for any Skeeter. I saw all this when I bought the boat but assumed it was because it was not rigged. The wiring hung down and interfered with the hot foot.Nothing is labeled. Let me repeat that NOTHING. So now to the real question. Anybody out there have any suggestions how to proceed to at least get a boat that kinda does what was advertised. I love the boat as a fishing platform and for the looks, but under the pretty face it is a $50,000.00 + piece of junk.
  21. Find a tackle shop near Lynn Haven and ask. Lynn Haven is only about five miles north of Panama City and has some great trout and flounder fishing among other species. The bottom fishing out of Panama City is sensational, but everything is out of season right now. There are a number of bass lakes around and a tackle shop guy should be able to help you the most. If I recall you can rent boats on Deer Point (freshwater).
  22. When I was a kid, so young I can't recall my age, I caught two speckled trout on some sort of lip-less crank bait in North Bay near Lynn Haven, FL. About two months ago I caught two small bass on a Model A on a private lake southeast of Orlando. The two events were around fifty years apart. I have a buddy that claims he caught two on a worm. The worm went out the gill of the first fish and the second fish picked it up. I didn't witness that feat.

  24. But, did you catch any fish on the frog? I wouldn't share any of my Wild Turkey with a snake that brought me bum frogs.
  25. Back around 1980 I fished a BASS tournament on Eufala and the guy who was the authority on the lake was Larry Columbo. Larry worked for Humminbird and tested new equipment a lot and hence learned every inch of the lake. He wrote a book about Eufala that Ray Scott called the Bible. I don't recall what the real name of the book is (I used to have a copy) but it was most informative--even talked about the terrain prior to the d**n being built. Hope you can find it.
