It happens to the best of us
my first cast with a baitcaster...the lure actually hit the ground (yeah...I still don't know how). I think a decent sized crow could have set up light housekeeping in the monofilament aftermath. (had to pop the sidecover and push out the spool. by the time it was cleared, I had about no line left)

Thinking of trading my AR for a bass boat, good or bad idea?
as a 2A person, either sell the ar, and use the money to buy something, or save your pennies. the boat you showed is worth trading maybe 2 mosin 91/30s (not hex bolts) provided the motor runs... I can see soft floors from here.

Which size spinning reel do I need?
sounds like a trout setup? personally, I'm running an older quantum xs00 ( assuming that to be a 1000, or thereabouts) any bigger than a 1500 is too big for my tastes when it comes to ultralight.

Your favorite polarized sunglasses?
Oakley bottle rockets. I am fiercely loyal to Oakley. (I have eyesight in my right eye because of oakleys...I will swear that to my grave.)

Reel depressed.
was lending my saltwater fishing equipment to my church for summer youth program. leaned against my truck to go inside and get more. my daughter distracted me. came out, and viola... a small fortune worth of penn rods....gone. some of them are no longer available....hate the replacements with a passion. if I ever find who did it, I will not call the police. he will.

Everyone's PB
crazy as it sounds, a 3 pounder can be the difference in winning and losing a tournament. in some waters, 3 pounds is a monster. in my end of the world, that's a real nice catch.

Got one deep in the gut...And gills
not being a wise guy...how would you hook them for soft plastics? (I've been away for a while, and, my daughter would go bonkers if I hurt a bass). do they size like other hooks (4/0 and such?)

Unfortunate incident with fellow angler.
mirroring everyone else, you did the right thing. the world is going batcrap crazy, and, there is no reason to escalate things. we can be our own sports worst enemy at times.

largemouth bass for a gift

Help needed in choosing new casting rod
my stuff is older, but, I figure loomis still makes a crankin' stick. great for anything....except for soft plastics.

Who Carries Daily.....and What Do You Carry...and Why..?
always a fullsize 1911... depends on my mood which. springfield trp in stainless, or kimber eclipse in 10mm. mitch rosen iwb (hides in quite well) or desantis speed scabbard if I don't mind printing. (we are an open carry state)

Help needed in choosing new casting rod
I realize that I'm the newb and all, but, what are you working with for a budget? for baitcasting rods, I love my loomis rods. for spiiners, st Croix is the way I roll. the only exception is a st Croix premier 6'6 heavy action (musky rod)...much backbone as a shovel handle. could probably lift a mid-sized crossover vehicle. (for quality without breaking the bank, lew's and dobyns seem like a pretty good bang for the buck....could have bought a lot of those for what I have tied up in loomis rods...just saying) i have to disagree with you about that walleye.....that looks like a fantastic catch!

greetings from the Philly burbs.
new hope used to have a great hot sauce shop....and, some real nice channel cats. the big problem with the better ponds is private ownership of the property. then, right about the 2nd week in june, the carpet of algae. feels like your pulling in orca, to find what could only be described as bait. nockamixon and galena are the 2 better spots in the area, for what I have found. I intend to find out what is swimming where, and catch wherever I can. knock the dust of the diawas, and start crankin.

greetings from the Philly burbs.
Greetings from Bucks County Pa! the part of it with no decent fishing within a half hour of me. (I half-joke) Been a long time since I was a fishing maniac. Life got in the way. now that life has slowed down a bit, I figure it's time to start fishing again. Wow, has fishing technology flown past me! anyways, time to dust off the rods and reels, and start yanking out bass! Harry
