  1. Thanks, Sounds like good advice. Any comments on a place to stay Friday night anyone?
  2. I am planning on fishing at Milford Lake on Saturday. Any does or don'ts? This will be our first experience in fishing for wipers. Any suggestions would be appreciated. We will be fishing from a 16' Lund with a 35 Hp. motor. Hope this isn't too small.
  3. Lincoln here
  4. Thanks, I'll check it out and pass along the info. RW/I also mentioned Steve and Red Willow to him but it looks like he really would prefer to go to Kansas.
  5. I have a freind whom wants to go Wiper fishing in late summer. Late July or August. He is looking for a guide to Milford Lake for his son and himself. I don't think that he is really set on Milford but would like to catch some wipers for a two day trip. I would appreciate any ideas , comments, or recommendations that I may pass on to him. Thanks, Phil

I thought you could fish from shore or maybe small non-powered boat for around 80 bucks for 1/2 day but I can't remeber exactly. I've heard there is fishing behind # 2 parking lot at the Floridian if you are sneaky. Or you can try this package. 9. I registered with iboats and want to thank you guys for your comments. Thanks for the encouragement bassboy1. I am going to move it off the trailer and into my garage and at least start on it. I have to find out what to do first, I don't want to do anything out of place or cut any corners. Mudcatwilly; Your comment made me laugh, just a no nonsense Get r Done attitude. Thanks for the comment though.
  10. I am considering putting this boat back together but have never done it before. Would this boat be worth the costs and effort??? Any comments or ideas would be appreciated. http://s197.photobucket.com/albums/aa264/fillupdfishing/
  11. There are lots of glasses out there and to help justify the cost, find a pair that you can wear for everyday activities and not just for fishing. Google search for some reviews and I'm sure you will be busy for awhile. I bought a pair of Oakley square wires (the newest model just introduced at 240.00) and there definitely is a difference in clarity with higher grade lenses. The square wires are crystal clear and with brown lenses an no line bi-focal they are a great pair of glasses. Unfortunately I did not do enough homework, and, after wearing them for awhile I found that they are too heavy for fishing activities, although the polarized lenses work very well and they are about indestructible. I now have a very stylish pair of glasses to wear for every day anywhere use, but like you, I am on the lookout for a pair of fishing glasses that I can wear all day without realizing I have them on. Anyway this is a rambling post and I just wanted to say I won't fall in love with the next pair of glasses I look at with out some intensive research. Remember your eyes are not like baby teeth, when they are gone they don't grow back, take care of them eyeballs. Maybe there should be a topic about why I like my polarized fishing glasses, what kind are they, and how much did they cost?
  12. I have fished the silver minnow in the sandhill refuge lakes in NE for Northern Pike and Bass and it is a favorite in that area as the refuge lakes are large, shallow and weedy bodies of water that are drinking water clear that promotes some heavy weed growth as the season progresses. They are great with a Uncle Josh bass strips (yellow or green spot) used as a trailer. Years ago the lure was sold in a presentation box with a Gold Silver minnow and a jar of Johnsons bass strip pork rinds. I am fascinated by the lure and have a vintage lure collection of aprox 80 silver minnows and boxes in various size and colors. Does anyone remember the Caper lure that was redesigned to become the Johnson Silver Minnow? Cabelas have an interesting array of new colors for the silver minnows on the stores web site. I haven't used the new colors yet but they sure are pretty, sure to catch a few fisherman.
