  1. my standard #1 lure is a #$ or#5 mepps- catch many and big large and small on it
  2. i went to marco island on vacation few years ago and being right on the water brought my fishing gear. wasnt sure what to bring for lures so i just brought what works well here for bass in maine. the snook went nuts over big mepps. after losing the 3 i brought i went to a bass pro shop an hour away. they didnt have any and the help didnt have any idea what kind of lure it was. told them they needed to stock them because snook went nuts over them. did find some small ones at walmart but they were to small
  3. #4or #5 mepps is my #1 lure for largemouth and smallies. doesnt seem to matter much about color of blade or hair. after many years of using this color i believe bass come to vibration of blade because of their big laterall line on their body. had a day i caught 100 large without changing my lure. caught them up to 8 lbs on this too.
  4. moved to lewiston( yes there are nice parts of it) have the androscoggin 5 min. away with many and big smallies and cobbessecontee stream 30 min. away with great largemouth size and numbers.
  5. if you are looking for smallies you might want to try the androscoggin river. started fishing it last year for them and caught many and big. i fish from a kayak and have a lot of luck. lived on sebago many years and fishing around rocks around shoreline and islands is a good bet. BUT- 4th of July time is not a great time to be trying to fish it because of the holiday.lot of boats and noise. had some great luck in cobbessecontee stream all ready this year on largemouths. androscoggin has been ready cold and discolored because of runoff and rain. got 1 monster smallie but not much else 3 weeks ago.little sebago might get you some smallies or thompsam lake in otisfield, range ponds are good.
