  1. Awesome! Congrats on the PB.
  2. I would read @roadwarrior‘s article about senkos.
  3. Nice. Over the holiday weekend did a bit of fishing, caught a few perch and bluegills with crankbait but no luck on the bass front. They were feeding topside, but my bbz rat, wooper flooper and assorted top lures couldn’t entice them. Was in the echo Bay Area. I’m trying to better learn a jig so I got some practice in at least.
  4. @BigAngus752 "Fish the weather. (Bright sun means bass are in different places depending on the water temp, cloudy changes things too)." Hey, would you mind expanding on this, i.e. Sunny vs. cloudy? Thanks!
  5. I see the structure in the middle of the map obviously, but ruled it out since it sits in 40 feet of water. Should I change that assumption if stumps are present ?
  6. As per Daiwa customer service agent “The handle is actually three pieces. With the 3 handle pieces, you should have 6 pieces in the tube.” They even included a photo, I guess I was wrong about handle breaking being on piece. Thanks so much for your answer.
  7. Hey, would someone be able to help with my structure and fishing spots ID? The pic with red circles is where I plan to target, the one with highlights is my structure ID. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I have big Memorial Day weekend fishing plans and I’m hoping to make th most of it! I plan to throw a crankbait, jig n craw, and either Carolina rig with a craw or a drop shot with a worm. My word I’ll pay it forward when I can. Highlights for structure ID (and some cover ID).
  8. Hello, As per Daiwa customer service agent “The handle is actually three pieces. With the 3 handle pieces, you should have 6 pieces in the tube.” They even included a photo, I guess I was wrong about handle breaking apart.
  9. Funny enough, despite having fishing specific glasses, the best glasses I have ever used to see through water was the “as seen on tv” hd vision glasses (yellow lenses).
  10. The handle doesn’t break apart. Maybe the dual function counts as two as you say. Really hoping it’s not missing parts so I don’t have to return it so I can get good use out of it this weekend! I was hoping to break it in today!
  11. Hello, I just had my new rod delivered and according to the specifications it says it has 5+1 pieces, but the rod that was delivered had 4 rod pieces and a case. I am trying to figure out whether I was shorted a ride piece or whether there is a piece that I am not accounting for. Link: https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-DAIWAROD.html?from=basres Pic:
  12. @Paul Roberts do you have the Arbito combo? It says it comes with 5+1 parts. I assume the one is the case, but it only have 4 rod pieces. Was I supposed to receive 5?
  13. I was guilty of the same thing, I actually only found out about fishing in Central Park when I had gotten a new rod and reel and wanted to find where I be allowed to cast it out. After a little googling I found myself watching one of Lunkerville’s fishing videos, and he has several in the city. There are some decent size fish in the Meer, especially when considering where you’re fishing.
  14. No. Basically did all the action with the reel handle. Wow, I threw it for the first time today, and man does is look awesome when moving. It caught a few reeds, but I found if I pop it up in the air just a bit it untangles itself and I can resume reeling. Unfortunately the bass where in beds and I did not get any bites, but I have high hopes for this one
  15. Just got back from Harlem Meer, and boy is that bite tough. At one point I literally hit a bass guarding a bed with a jig in the face five or six times but he would not bite. I tried a jig n craw, Texas Senko, wacky Senko, crankbait, and a bbz 40 rat to no avail. A friendly passerby asked if he could use my rod to tail hook the fish, but I kindly let him down. The guy then when on and gave me a five minute lecture on Louisiana Bass fishing, and I learned a few new things I didn’t know before. I have probably fished the Harlem Meer a dozen times this year, but today was the first time people were just coming up to me and trading fish stories. More than a few asked where they could get fishing gear or learn how to fish. I and up given a 10 minute seminar on how to cast a spinning reel and the behavior of spawning fish. I’m hoping that today I spread the fishing bug to a few new anglers. Picture of the Meer today.
  16. You sold me. Ever “walk” it?
  17. Thanks! Plan to try it out when it stops raining this afternoon. Well that didn't work out well. There was so much debris from the storm that I was essentially just collecting weeds.
  18. Coincides to when I get out of work.
  19. Thanks! Plan to try it out when it stops raining this afternoon.
  20. How long do you, on average, throw a buzz bait without a bite before you move on to another spot?
  21. I printed out a topo map and highlighted submerged vegetation, humps, and where the underwater creeks intersect. I’m trying to learn more about the importance of structure while fishing, I usually focus exclusively on cover. @Catt articles and post have been a big help. I owe him.
  22. What’s the top two books you would recommend? i don’t think it’s fair to you that you put the work in and now have to have someone grabbing your coattails.
