  1. Walmart now selling gene larew baits (packaged as YUM) in their discount bins. $1.95 a pack. Needless to say I've hit up every walmart in a 10 mile radius. Scored biffle bugs, hammer craws, punch outs, and (my favorite) hoodaddys. I'm new on here so I have to ask, does someone have a "problem" when they leave specific instructions for the delivery guy to hide a package (or 6) in the bush next to the front door to avoid wife from seeing? Asking for a friend.
  2. war eagle copper frame and blades, black skirt. I know, I know, sounds a little odd. I was skeptical too, till my buddy tore them up down at the local river (cloudy / clearwater conditions). Don't go to the river without one tied on now.
  3. Trying to gather info on wake bait colors (even though I know a lot of it is weather / location / time of year dependent). Being in the middle zone between topwater and squarebill, I'm curious what color selection most lean towards. Does it make more sense to go with the bone/black like topwater, or get chart, bluegill, sexy shad, shad patterns similar to squarebills. I'm probably overthinking it, but we currently have 6 inches of snow on the ground and I need some bass fishing in my life. Thanks
  4. Thank you for the insight. I agree, for sure a big fish rod. Too nice to send back. I have a curado 301e gathering dust in the basement (also a bargain steal) that will fit perfect on it. Can't go wrong chucking some big swimbaits on it.
  5. Agree. Thank you for the info. I've found some great deals on rods in the "amazon warehouse" but buyer beware, they may send you the wrong rod.
  6. Thank you. Always looked through the forums, figured it was time to join.... Originally ordered a falcon cara "angler of the year" model (cc-5-168s). Hoping to use it for river smallmouth / spinnerbaits. So yes, the rod sent to me has a totally different function.
  7. Ordered a falcon cara from Amazon and the rod they sent wasn't what was described. Pretty bummed. What they sent me was a "falcon cara peacock special" (cc-8-169H). Can't find much info on the rod online, so was hoping someone might be able to help me out with some details / review. Obviously not going peacock bass fishing anytime soon, is it serviceable for largemouth? It was discounted to $65 and brand new, just trying to make sure I don't have some hidden gem / lucky deal before I send it back. Thanks.
