  1. Thanks for all the great info everyone. I love this forum! I'm leaning towards the shimano curado based on this thread unless someone wants to talk me out of it. Thanks again!
  2. I'm considering my first baitcaster and I'm clueless. I would like a good reel at a reasonable price. Given it will be my first, I'm open to something not so great until I get the feel of the baitcaster and determine what I like and don't like down the road. I've been thinking about the high speed Johnny Morris Signature at BPS but I'm not sure if that's too much reel for a first timer. What should I look for? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
  3. I live in Tampa and I've used the calcutta flashfoil swim shad in avacado red flake and mullet colors with great success. I've caught big and small bass on these even though I'm not sure they are specifically designed for bass I think they may be engineered for saltwater. I like them best of all because they seem to work in every body of water I throw them in. One other note: A friend of mine caught this 7.5 lber on one of the avacado red flakes.
  4. Nice fish! Does that beat your PB? I'll understand if you don't want to say. I noticed you're in central FL. I live in Tampa. Any chance you wanna share where she got that hawg?
  5. Thanks RoadWarrior!
  6. I just bought some gycb senkos. Does anyone have any tips / trick for fishing these? Oh...I also bought some of their creature baits as well. Thanks, Jason
  7. I've recently been using the 1/4 oz Booyah white/chart buzzbait with some success. It's a ton of fun catching em' on a buzzbait. Anyway, I was curious if any of you had a favorite brand & color. Also, does 1/4 or 3/8 oz make much difference? Thanks, Jason
  8. Thanks for the input everyone!
  9. Sounds like somewhere between 4 and 5 pounds. I'm sure his version of the story will lean towards 5 lbs. Thanks everyone!
  10. This is a pic of a nice largemouth my Father-in-Law caught this weekend in a golfcourse pond behind his house. I didn't have a scale handy but I was wondering based on size, how much this fish might weigh? Thanks, Jason
  11. Wow guys! Thanks for all the replies. Now I just need to go buy some more of these colors. Thanks again!
  12. Thanks for all of the great info guys! I already picked up a crawdad and fire and ice colors. I would have picked up more but that's the only ones they had at the store that were listed here. Thanks again everyone!
  13. Here's a pic (sorry camera phone quality) of one I caught today on a Culprit Grape Firetail worm. Does anyone else fish these worms? If so, what colors work best in stained and clear water? BTW...today's catch was in stained water.
  14. Thanks everyone! Now i just have to go try some of these tips. If I catch something on it, I'll let you know. Thanks again!
  15. I cannot seem to catch a fish on a spinnerbait? I consistently catch em' on worms and swim shads but I can't seem to do anything with a spinnerbait? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
  16. I recently bought this hat from the BPS outside of Ft Myers, FL. It cost around $20 and I love it. Kind of ugly but it really keeps the sun off of you. http://www.amazon.com/Columbia-Sportswear-Bora-Booney-BEIGE/dp/B000FN9QRU/ref=sr_1_1/102-5684729-3564150?ie=UTF8&s=apparel&qid=1177462445&sr=8-1
