I am trying to plan a trip to Wisconsin in July. The ultimate goal being relaxation lol. We are hoping to make it a fishing/tubing/outdoor kind of vacation. We will be bringing our dogs as well. Originally we were looking in the Hayward area and Wisconsin Dells. Keeping our goals in mind any and all suggestions as to where you love to go in Wisconsin would be appreciated. We will be staying 5-7 days. Also if you know of anyone who rents and is pet friendly let me know. We are using vrbo right now. We do have three performance dogs and have used vrbo in the past so we do have references :)

I am in SE Wisconsin ( Milwaukee area ) and anywhere up north is a great place to be. In the south part of the state there is a few great lakes to fish for big bass and they are Delavan and lake Geneva. On Delavan there is a place called Lake Lawn Resort it has a golf, and is wright on the lake,it is a nice place to stay with great fishing.

But up north is alot less people and some very good fishing and alot more trees on the shore line. There are so many places to stay. Just google upper wis.

PS I did send you a PM with more info.

Definitely try to get up North. IMO, stay away from the Dells, it's like the Disneyland of Wisconsin. Tons of tourists and water is crowded. If you want relaxation, get on a lake somewhere up North and enjoy the peace, quiet, and the great northwoods. There are tons of lakes and it's not unsual to be the only boat on the water.

Let us know where you are thinking and I'm sure some people can comment. Hayward is pretty neat and there are some fun things to do in town (fishing hall of fame, some good pizza). Might get a shot at a big muskie too.

Great thank you! We were checking out a few places in Hayward! Hoping to make a decision tonight. We go to the dells but more for out of the way stuff rather than the drag. My bf took me there a few years ago and I was like um...I grew up in Florida remember? No tourist traps please lol. We actually found a great campground outside the dells...I think it was in Lindon Station or something like that. Good times...
