Kerr Reservoir (Heading There This Week)

Featured Replies

My friends and I are going to Kerr this week and will be staying in Clarksville near Occoneechee. If anyone would like to share some knowldege of this lake I would appreciate it,not anyones honeyhole ,but what the lake level is like, water temp,, what the fish seem to be doing. I will be fishing from a 17 ft tin boat with a 60hp. others going down will have bigger rigs, so though i will be limited by water runs I can always tow to another ramp to fish. I appreciate any help I can get. we will be fishing Thursday and Friday this week.thank you

Water is up and muddy on the Occoneechee side, but clearing on Clarksville side. I've only been fishing from the bank, though, so I don't have too much info.

Keep in mind Cabela's King Kat tourney is this weekend for the first time on Buggs, so should be busy, especially with recent world record.

Anything over 300 is best.

Currently at 302 which means the water is "in the bushes" so have your plastics, jigs and spinnerbaits ready to roll. Don't forget your crankbaits, too, paralleling the shoreline.

Hit all wood you can find.

Look for them on their beds.

Flippin and Pitchin sounds good.

Don't forget your license and having that throw cushion out in the open plus checking the expiration date on your fire extinguisher.
