i have a very small rat l trap

it works great ffor pike and bass but the hooks are small

this results in bad hooksets, i tryed putting big hooks on it but that messes up the action really bad and the his wont hitit,

anytips?

Try the bigger hook on the belly and leave the tail hook off.

Maybe you went too far the other way, too big of hooks?

Are you using a stiff rod? Maybe a light action rod would help.
