Bps Pro Qualifier/veritas For Deep Cranking?

Featured Replies

Today I bought a BPS PQ 4.7:1 ratio and a Veritas Winch series 7'6" MH rod for throwing deep cranks.

I've loaded it with 12# P-Line flouro. It feels well balanced and didn't break the bank so I dropped the dough. I mostly fish weeds, points and ledges out to about 12ft so fishing deeper structure is new to me.

Does anyone here have any experience with this rod or reel or maybe even this exact combo?

I'm most concerned about casting distance to get the lure down its working depth.

It will work great! Just go fish and have fun.

I am not familiar with the rod, but have 4 PQs. Casting distance will NOT be a problem. I have a 6'6" MH glass rod that combined with a PQ and 12# CXX will throw a 1/4 oz Bandit 100 well into next week. Enjoy your new combo!

Not sure about the rod either, but I have a 5.2:1 PQ on a 7'MM Carbonlite and can throw cranks a good ways. The reel casts very smooth imo. I have heard good things about those rods though. You should be happy with!

I got this same combo yesterday! Isn't that funny?! I went with the 7ft medium for throwing cranks, this thing has quite a backbone to it. Paired mine with 12lb XPS Fluro and a few squirts of KVD L&L. Going out shortly and will report back! I don't think you'll have any issues throwing deep cranks on that rig though. Enjoy!

I have that same rod and love it! I also have a BPS 5.1 reel paired with it but its not a PQ, you will love the combo!

I have a 7'-0" Winch. Its paired with a 6.4:1 Revo SX. Easily one of my favorite setups.

The rod is excellent for cranking. You'll enjoy throwing your combination.
