Inflatable Boat Floor Help (Seahawk4)

Featured Replies

I am going to be picking up a Seahawk 4 this week and I want to put in some hard floors and carpet it. I drive a BMW coupe so I was thinking about cutting into 4 peices that way I could slide them into the trunk.

Anybody have any input on this? How to measure and all that? Should I be ok with just the wood on the bottom? The less crap I have and less time it will take to get out of the car and in the water is a plus.

I have a Seahawk 4 and put a hard floor in it. I used one piece of 1/4" plywood and made a rough trace of the bottom with the boat flipped over. Then just trimmed it to fit. I then used Pipe foam and glued it around the outside. This keeps it snug and I know it wont cut into the boat.

Im not sure how well 4 pieces would work. I think it would flex a lot unless you had a way to keep them from moving at all. Something that ran down the length to tie them all together.

This is before I put the foam on.

I'll try and find a picture of it completed.

Only have a Cell phone pic my buddy took. Its a great setup though. Easy to stand and move around in,

See thats my issue. I cant fit the floor in my car. I am going the have to make pieces somehow. Maybe just doing 3 pieces would be better and I was thinking about hinging them. That way they stay connected but I can fold them onto each other. The foam is a good idea also.

Thanks for the feedback.

drive a honda civic and live in a dc area aprtment, and went with a seamax 10.6 inflateable with a 4 piece aluminum floor. Standing is no issue. A heavier duty boat might be the way to go. It fits in the back seat of my car and my trunk. I also have a pedestal, seat, 55lb thrust trolling motor, and downscan. Almost as close as I can get to a bass boat without storage or a boat slip.

I have completed my boat! Floor and all. I will be taking it out for a fish tomorrow and I will do a vid of my setup before I hit the water.
