Just curious to see what you guys think, I have both, and they work I just wanna know which one you like the most, or when do you prefer one vs the other

Well I perfer Super Spot, because it's alittle cheaper, and the Rat L Traps I had never ran true.

I like the vibrating style baits, I've generally got one tied on, but I don't like Rattle Traps. I've had a decent bit going with a Berkley Frenzy Rattle bait, stopped and tied on a Rattle Trap, and the bite stopped. 15 minutes of throwing the trap, and no bites. Go back to the Frenzy and -boom- several more fish. Since that day all of my rattle traps have been caged in their own box and set on a shelf in my shed where they can't contaminate any of my other baits.

Now, to answer your question, I've got a few spots, and they work, my current favorite rattle bait is a Berkley Frenzy.

Red Eye Shad is > then all others. For me it is any ways. I might have more traps then any thing but I only use the RES in 1/2 oz and some times 3/4 but rarely.

Never used the super spot, but the rat-l-trap has caught me some good fish. I use my Koppers live target rattle baits 90% of the time now. But if I am on a strange body of water and dont want to lose a 12-13 dollar crank, I will start with a rat-l-trap until I feel I know the lake better.

Both work for me. I also love the strike king lipless cranks.

I've been a fan of rattle traps for a long time, in the early spring they are very effective just being reeled in at a slow steady pace or on a yo-yo type retrieve. In the warmer months it is a great bait for reaction strikes or as a search bait and you can burn them, yo-yo, rip and pause, or tick the weeds and rip free and they will catch fish. I prefer the rattle trap over the spot as I think the body of the spot is slightly thinner which not only makes a different sound but has resulted in a few cracked bodies, something I haven't experienced with a rattle trap. Today, the Rapala Clackin Rap and the Xcalibur one knockers get most of the use, they have been cosistantly catching bigger fish versus the rattle baits.

Yes, I agree with you I like de red eye shad more than the other two but sometimes Im fishing shallow water and the RES sinks too fast so I wanted a bait that falls slower, so which do you prefer between those two?

I think the Super Spot is an underrated bait. The 1/2 oz feels lighter to me than other 1/2 oz.traps. It is easier to keep the bait higher or work it shallower. It also stands on its nose. The finish is also pretty good. ... It may be more prone to turn on its side at higher speeds than other traps.

Great assesment. Spots ride just a bit higher in the water than traps. Theres a bank fishing only lake I frequent that has a certain 3' flat. On a super long cast traps bog down in the millfoil too much. The spots catch fish that id miss on other baits.

As others said, the super spot runs a bit shallower, has a little bit wider wiggle, and is a little less noisy than the same weight Rat L Trap. I just use the spot in shallower water and the trap in deeper water or murkier water. Both are great baits and catch tons of bass and anything else that swims (walleye, trout, pike, big panfish, even catfish).
